The wild pigs are usually smaller and typically scatter when they see us. This one, not so much. He came right up to the dog kennel and didn't care about efforts to scare him off. He got into the yard and scared the H**l out of my daughter. Huge areas of pasture were torn up, and he kept returning. Not a difficult shot because he never ran away - maybe 60 feet away when I shot him. He then ran for about 100 yards - actually, I thought I missed him. I reloaded and went searching for him in a ravine and was about to come back because it was getting dark and I decided it was not the best plan to be down there, but then saw what I thought was a large boulder - on closer inspection it was this guy - dead. So I did hit him after all. Anyway, a part of rural living I guess. I drug him out of the ravine the next morning.

Responding to replies: I could not haul him out of the ravine until the next morning, so no bacon - and I didn't want to do that anyway. I hauled him way to the back of the property (90 acres). I have buried them there before but they are always dug up, and without a back hoe it would have been a bit of a task. So, this one was left for the coyotes and buzzards.
