Morning all, 33 going up to 51, and sunny-wind is calm for a bit, been blowing stuff around for the last few days.

Maybe get some wire attached in the utility room. MiniSplit delayed due to funds (or lack of) for now. Might get some furring strips and sheetrock to at least get that wall ready.

Good morning, 29 going to 52 today, still too wet to do much outside but it is drying nicely.

Fixed the phone issues yesterday although I am not happy about how this went down. Got a new iPhone thinking it was a phone issue only to find out it had the same dropped calls. After a lot of phone with calls to AT&T they finally fixed what was the problem on their network.

Popgadget, happy birthday to wife. Was the freezing problem with the Mitsubishi mini split?

Tomorrow morning early heading up to Mechanicsburg for replacing the charge cooler on the Sprinter.

Saw this story about man stranded in snow bank with no cell service sending his phone up with drone to send text for help and he got rescued

Popgadget, happy birthday to wife. Was the freezing problem with the Mitsubishi mini split?

No it was the 14 SEER Goodman that is paired with a propane furnace for backup. I have “customized” it over the years with a Hyper Engineering “sure start” soft start device and the demand defrost control that is my current issue.
The sure starts are great, they reduce the starting current by a large factor.

The Mitsubishi is upstairs, it works flawlessly and reduces the load on the main system on the first floor.

It seems like something is wrong at the post office. Have the post people been so jerked around that they don't care anymore?

I think there's some of that going on, but what few conversations I've had with our postman leave me with the impression he likes playing the victim, always blaming someone else for his unhappiness, and fighting back against "the man" with his bad behavior. So I guess the people along his route are also part of "the organization" against which he is rebelling.

Good morning! Low of 35°, heading up to 54°. Then the high jumps to 66° tomorrow. No precip.

Got the drip irrigation repaired, zone successfully watered. Starting to see a couple of buds on the lilacs starting to crack open. A couple of perennials starting to emerge.

Spring is around the corner.... that means getting another snowfall.......

Some piddling today, but not much. Knee is complaining...woke me up a couple times last night.

I'd have to make some other expensive changes, like adding an Xantrex inverter/charger that is rated for lithium voltage.

Maybe not, Drew. I've seen quite a few lithium batteries that are designed for automotive use that have their own built in charge controllers, and are configured to use typical automotive alternator outputs in the 12-14 volt range. All that extra circuitry doesn't help with the cost, though.

wow, another train crash, this time caused by a landslide on the tracks, engine went into New River, must have been mighty scary for that engineer.

cars can have radar and autostop, but trains are so heavy, like cruise ships, they take forever to stop.
lucky train was not full of chemicals
not sure how they can avoid this without huge expense in mountain areas
