Good Morning!!!! 44F @ 7:30AM in Lompoc, Ca. Overcast with rain showers at times. High 62F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 60%.

I was supposed to look at another house here today, but it went pending yesterday and is now off the market. It was a long shot, anyway, as the lot was small and access to the back yard was limited. Had a beautiful master suite, but it was up a flight of stairs. Had three other bedrooms on the main floor, though, so it could have worked. Was a bit excited about a listing that popped up last night in a very desireable town north of here, but it was only 200' from the freeway. Thanks, BTDT, and I'm not going back to that at this stage of my life.

Left a bunch of firewood down here after New Years, and most of it is too big for the little fire pit. So once the sun takes the chill off, I'll fire up the Makita chainsaw and cut it down to size. Then there are a couple of doors that need new sweeps at the bottom, so I'll keep busy while my buddy is at work. Tomorrow we head over to Death Valley to meet with the Airheads.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

67°F and no rain

Didn’t get any painting done yesterday. Opted to spend time figuring out hanging the door hardware and got a good start on that. 24 ft of double track. Got it all marked out, 1st 2x8 in place, as well as 1st 8 ft of the base track. Today I’ll add some 2x reinforcement and hopefully finish. My thinking that as I finish each door I can just hang in place.

Do have to take a break for a haircut.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Burgess order came in, I think too early. I just planted six small thuja trees, but pretty sure too early for strawberries they send.
Most places say beginning of April for this area. So I watered them and will probably plant them in a week.
they sent me free packets of corn and some other veggie I cannot grow; will give them to a friend.

Morning all (just a bit late);
Nice sunny but cool day here 33F at a bit after 1PM.
Got home yesterday afternoon and today I started my light exercise,
gave my nephew a hand getting cow /calf pairs separated to wean the calves off the cows.
They made a temporary corral out of feed wagons, and a few panels, we ran about 30 pair into it and
separated the cows back out one side and calves out the other.
I didn't get any good pictures while we were working them, but here's a couple,

The corral, with some of the cows cut back,

A wider view of the setup,

Then I guess he wants to move calves around tomorrow between two of the farms,
We'll be loading them into a trailer, towing the trail about 2 miles and unloading there will be several loads.

And here is a picture of the good close air support aircraft, an A-4C of VMA-211 a bit hard to see the bird from all the people sitting on it,

Everyone get well and stay so

47F and sunny @ 14:00, calling for a high of 49F for the day.

Got sanding done and 4th coat of poly put on shelf last night. Time to flip it and start on the other side.

Some Fish Room maintenance last night at The Woman's insistence, probably do some more of that today ... just so it doesn't get too far out of control.

Also cleaned pre filter on air cleaner, amazing the amount of dust/debris/cat dander it has picked up in two months. Probably should pluck the one in the furnace out and wash it as well.

Finished up design work on router table and did a little clean up on the file.

Also entered all the 3/4 ply parts on to Cut List Optimizer for an optimized layout. Will take a little less than 2 sheets.

Next good opportunity for cutting plywood probably not until Wednesday or Thursday of next week due to storm/cold front coming through. Will probably hold off until then. Not like there is any shortage of other stuff to do.

Todays Amazon delivery (via UPS) was 4 spring hose clamps.

Hope everyone is having a good Thursday ... (y)
