Just anecdotal evidence. I looked at the cost of solar panels on my house and $20K-$30K would be hard to recover in my lifetime.Just curious what you base this on? With all the federal programs and power company buy back I would think it would be a payback. Just my thinking, I don't have anything to base it on in Kentucky. The way he worded it almost sounds like if a group got together to do it, it may be for personal use anyway.
I have them on my house. Was $18.5K, then I got 28% back on taxes.Just anecdotal evidence. I looked at the cost of solar panels on my house and $20K-$30K would be hard to recover in my lifetime.
The math is pretty easy, even with the increased lifespan of these panels now days, without government subsidies no one would try to mass produce electricity with solar. Highly inefficient, pretty high cost to get into, can be high monthly maint (cleaning dust/snow/ice/bird crap). Can you make pennies? Yes. Can you make dollars? Probably not.Just curious what you base this on? With all the federal programs and power company buy back I would think it would be a payback.
