Which is better Ford F2000 3 cylinder gasoline power engine or the F2000 3 cylinder diesel powered engine ? Also which one holds it's value?

Welcome to TBN. The diesel is a much better machine and holds its value bettrt

One of them gas tractors will bush hog circles around a diesel. I'd take either or both.9. When the diesel goofs, spending money. Gas goofs, maybe a carb kit.

I like the diesels for the torque and power but for long term I'll take the gas, cheaper to repair when needed.

Diesel Fords of that era, had cooling systems that actually turned acidic and could eat holes into the block, internally, low in the water jacket, if the coolant wasn't changed or treated regularly. The gas versions didn't have this issue.

As far as which one is best? Either. But make sure there is Power Steering if you want to add a Loader, PTO Pump help for a Loader, because the internal Hydraulic Pump doesn't have alot of flow. Stay away from Selcto Speed, not because it isn't nice, but few know how to set the Bands.

CAV Injection Pumps are easier to rebuild than SIMS Pumps, but need rebuilding more often.

Just from an Old Ford/New Holland Tech, in the 80's

And on the note of cavitation (acidic coolant eating holes in the cylinders), use quality water, SCA enhanced coolant or put in additives to halt any erosion.
Many of the old blocks without cross hatch in external casting are actually really not susceptible to cavitation.
