I remember those days in Phoenix. Be walking out of a store into a large parking lot and hear a window shattering from the heat.
But its a dry heat :)

River rafting the Salmon River or jet boat up the Snake and Hells Canyon was fun for us. Hardcore guys below

IMO...if you are not interested in nite life activity...I suggest visiting as many national (and sate) parks...you can stay in cooler climes...

Depends on what you like to experience? If you do cities with overpopulation and the ***** that brings? Then any coast is good for that, else do a drive through the Rockies from the south up north thorugh Zion park in Utah and hit Yellowstone? Could be doable in 7 days.

that's a pretty big canvas to work with ... so many options :)

i have only been to a few places in the States ... camping down the West Coast, i love California, Oregon, i miss Michigan (studied there), Chicago was fabulous, Florida was memorable, I'd like to get to Arizona
