Oh come on now! They’re beautiful places.
Both near the birthplaces of our country!

The sights (homeless people, trash, used needles), the sounds (horns, alarms and cop car sirens), the smells (urine, feces, sewage).

What could be better????

The independence seaport museum is in Philadelphia, among other more historically important things, toured the old cruiser Olympia in the 1990s. I believe the old Missouri class battleship, New Jersey is also there now. If WW2 ships are your thing then go up to New York and tour the USS Intrepid a ww2 carrier next to it is a old destroyer and submarine, I was there in the the 90s also.

Don’t forget to check out Baltimore or North Philly. lol
Don't forget Gary, IN. Make sure you're off the street after dark and wear your body armor.

When we've been places like that, and LA, Detroit, NY...you see tourists taking pictures. I'm sure back home..."this is America"!

Most people in other countries and states when I was growing up heard I was from NY and automatically assumed I was from NYC. They did not know how big and diverse NY is. I am sure the same happens with Texas and other larger states.

You were blessed.

One of favorites from Mr. Till. Most of the pictures he has taken I've been to the location where the picture was taken, and I could never come close to his ability (I'll blame it on the lower end Nikon SLR camera). There were are a lot of "pucker power" hikes to some spots for an East Coast kid LOL

My first trip to Utah I hit the Grand Canyon coming back from Utah up through Page Arizona. After seeing all the people there, I never went back until I took my future wife and dad because they wanted to go because we were "in the area".

Yup.. I'm far enough away from crime Savannah and almost opposite ends of the state from hot Atlanta .. don't really care to visit either one

There is a Battleship museum across the river in Camden.
