How do you know Spring is just around the corner, or here already?

I know it's spring because a Lowe's truck pulled up in front of my neighbor's house and unloaded a new zero turn mower.

Our lilacs are getting ready to bloom, but it’s still in the mid 30s in the mornings. Hopefully we can squeak by without another freeze that will ruin the blooms.

We're having some weird weather. 30s. 80s. 30s. 80s. 30s. All the fruit trees are flowering. A couple close calls on freeze warnings. Some more next week.

Typically, in the past here, rule of thumb was last freeze April 15. Last frost May 15.

Those untypical hot days bring the buds out earlier and make them susceptible to freeze damage.

Fingers crossed.

No lilacs yet. Tulips are about done. Daffodils about done. Narcissi are in full bloom. Rabbit ate the crocuses 3 weeks ago!

Wife and I were turning dirt over in our new to us little greenhouse last evening. Man, it's hot in there!!!
