Good morning!!!!

Good morning from Central Texas. A much warmer morning after many "cool for us in April" days. After the recent rains, still cannot get the hayfield winter grass cut and baled. But the daytime temps are approaching 90, so it won't be long now. A little later than optimum, would have liked to be fertilizing for 2nd cutting, but....

The USAF 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, a component of the 403rd Wing located at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Miss "Hurricane Hunters" is the only full-time weather unit. The active duty and reservists operate 10 WC-130J "Super Hercules" aircraft. They provide surveillance of tropical storms and hurricanes in the Atlantic Ocean, the Caribbean Sea, the Gulf of Mexico and the central Pacific Ocean for the National Hurricane Center in Miami. The unit also flies winter storm missions off both coasts of the United States.

Hope all have a great day.

Coffee is brewing. 35° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 61° with some sun. Did last cleanup of pond a few days. Need to let filters do their job. Hooked up chipper to tractor. Neighbor and I chipped enough to fill a 4 X 8' trailer. Then spread chips on his trail in the woods.
Grocery shopping this morning. Then will take chipper off tractor. Lot of small limbs in my chipper pile. Will haul them to neighbors fire pile with tractor.

Good (Thursday) evening. The overnight Low was 5C (0C when I arrived at AGFEST) and it's presently 10.5C. I believe that the high, here in St Helens was 15C. It was a glorious sunny day, calm and there was 2.1mm in the gauge from last evening.

The run, to and from AGFEST, was great and there was no chance of 'bogging' at the parking. I got there at 0740, really close to the entrance. An absolutely beautiful day AND my wallet did not take a beating! A few tools (titanium HSS drill-bits for my hammer drill) and a new 'plaid' woollen winter jacket. Oh, and 9 pairs of socks! A few other goodies, but nothing 'major'. I actually left at 1130 (so I wouldn't be tempted by anything else.)

Home by 1400 and I've put everything away. I truly enjoyed myself.

I've now put the first fire on in the wood heater for the Winter season and am now enjoying a couple of glasses (all right, my glass holds half a bottle) of Cab Sav.

That's about it, take care all.
you need a new wine glass:

😂🤣

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

Just hit 32.0F, but shouldn’t be there long enough to harm the tree buds or elderberry shoots.

Woke up yesterday morning in a tangle of sheets and blankets, and a slight twinge in the lower back. Got progressively worse through the day. Inversion table did not alleviate it (only on for 7-8 minutes). Laying in bed now, all movements are calculated and deliberate, making call later to chiro to see about squeezing me in. Yay.

Picked up six bags of soil, but no tires, probably won’t happen today, I may at least stop by and talk about getting a flatbed load.

Next week I am taking mom up to visit her brother in PA for a couple days, so I need to empty the last year-and-a-half’s Worth of accumulated tools/straps/sundries/trash, check fluids and pressures. Luckily, that should be doable with back today, as the main pain is transitioning from horizontal or sitting to vertical.

Made second pay,ent on Boot Camp for Harry. He knows his name, but is exceedingly good at completely ignoring you when he wants to.

i hope everyone one has a happy, healthy, safe and blessed day!

good morning all
a cool 40 this morning going up to low 50's in clouds and more showers this afternoon
I'm really ready for some dry weather.

very pleased to report new rear taillight showed up for rv. May wait til I see Popgadget or Ken to put it in, since I screwed up the wiring the first time and
hard to diagnose by myself. Also got in a pair of new LED rear taillights for rv, which I want to add to the additional not so bright oem bulbs. Challenge will be running the wires, surface mount so only one small hole.

looking at the new taillight reminded me what a mess the four year old originals were, corroded, dirt inside, not well protected. Thinking I might pull the bulbs out of the new one and spray everything down with DeOxit.

will be mowing the front lawn at least this morning, back may still be too wet. Still considering getting a small trim mower

taking some fresh lettuce over to landlady this morning along with jars of lingonberry and cloudberry preserves I got from Amazon. With a thank you note for my new kitchen counter

decided to move another big hunk of equity mutual funds over to a 25 month 4.8% CD. Budget deficit, Putin, XI, lot of risk factors out there to mess up stock market.
At this point in my life, can't afford to lose the money. Still primarily invested in stock market but will feel better lowering the risk.

just make sure your bank isn’t another potential failure before locking up funds in a CD…

Pretty conservative approach.

I'm not even close to the 250K Fed insurance limit anyway.

Good morning, still cold at 42 and the low was 40, partly cloudy but no rain finally and high going 59 today

The shoulder was stiff and complained after getting out of bed so did some slow stretching as I had learned at PT and it helped.

The new taping method on the knee is working and the KT tape stays on for several days without coming loose. Stepping up with that leg is getting better so time to stop using the other leg for each stair step I am hoping.

Left the PT script open for 30 days so I may set up a follow up appointment in a couple of weeks to check progress.

Working out daily on the PT and also include heavier workouts for the other arm and shoulder using rubber tubes with handles of various sizes.

Also do back and stomach strengthening work to prevent back problems from happening. Kilroy I have gone through what you are talking about with your back not fun.

Enough of my old age complaining

Not sure what I will get into.

PG you are blessed with your work and lifestyle
Wish you good health and many more years of working a job that you like.

Daughter continues to keep us included in her life and calls almost daily to check on us and give update on what she is into. She listens to advice when asked but she is getting beyond where she needs much guidance from us but it is interesting following her progress and how she is able being a woman, black and still being more successful than most of her peers. In meetings with the Danish government officials they wondered about her danish surname and was curious about that happened

Good Morning!!!! 50F @ 4:00AM. Cloudy skies. Slight chance of a rain shower. High 64F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph.
That "slight chance of a rain shower" has come to fruition, and something is making a dripping sound in the chimney chase. Sounds like it's hitting sheet metal instead of drywall, though.

Hard to find safe harbor in today's financial markets, isn't it? So many stock scandals, companies defaulting on their bonds, banks failing and CDs going to zero, the gummint seizing up every now and again has me wondering if treasury bills are safe. Even if they are, the ugly head of inflation is taking a significant bite out of any returns on fixed assets. The only certainty is that things have been worse than they are now, but they've been better, too...

A building inspector was out to take a look at the lathe on the chimney chase yesterday, and it failed. The stucco man's sloppy work left the overlap on the chicken wire upside down, and one corner piece was completely missing. The general contractor was none too happy to hear about that, or the damage Stucco Man did to the gate. Which I spent most of yesterday straightening out, literally. Repairs are mostly complete, but the gate is sagging when it's open, putting extra strain on the opener motor when trying to close it. There's a cable anchored to a dead man in the ground to take the sag out, but heaving on the gate broke the dead man loose. So time to start digging a new one, bigger and deeper this time. Good thing I don't have anything else to do.

The contractor's son brought out some paint chips for the roof and gutter metal yesterday, but the one I was hoping to use for the trim color was missing. I'm more worried about getting done than changing colors, so we'll resort to replacing instead of changing colors. I have a stop at the Sherwin-Williams store planned for today to match the color on a chunk of stucco, and the contractor will be all set for paint, too.

The cherry on top was passing on the latest counter offer, which was 35K above what I think the place is worth. Good luck to the new owner getting the bank to go along with their hubris. I didn't like the color of the house anyway. Who wants to live in a lump of charcoal?

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!
