   / Good morning!!!! #169,372
Muggy day today high 90˚F but south of San Antonio was under a heat advisory with a 109˚ heat index, so I feel fortunate. One tractor driver quite and the other was promoted, so the promoted one is my relief driver since he has to sub whereever their is a staffing shortage.

This evening during our hike we saw a man on the trail holding something behind him and running, I thought he was holding string and pulling a kite, but when we got closer he was holding his phone and videoing his turkey attack. The same turkeys we saw attacking a car when we arrived. I got my phone out as we were walking toward the turkeys on the trail but we went very slow and methodically and they did not attack. We did however see a large snake on the trail and a fox crossing the road with a rat in his mouth.

61F and mostly cloudy @ 23:59, headed down to around 57F for the overnight low.

Reasonably productive day.

Got the all the mowing down around the house finished up, along with the rest of the front yard.

After that I used the B&D battery operated string-trimmer to cut down all the weeds around the four small (2' tall) oak saplings up along the road that we had transplanted previously. Got all the debris from that raked up and dumped over at the compost pile, also caged them to keep the browsers away:

IMG_2547 copy.jpg

Pruned the lowest side branches off of one 6' tall oak that is up there, as well as trimming back a bunch of multi-flora rose that was growing out of a shrub. All that got taken over to the brush pile. Still some more trimming to do on the larger trees up there.

After that I moved the old Craftsman table saw and B&D/Dewalt radial arm saw over to the barn to make room for the Unisaw.

Once that was done I came inside to scarf down my half of the Jimmy John's Italian that The Woman had brought from her trip out shopping earlier today.

Before I could get to that though, I noticed a 'coon out the kitchen window at the feeders ... so I snuck out with the 12 gauge and gave him a blast. Apparently he had heard me coming cause he was already making tracks when I rounded the corner.

Shot was probably from 75' or better ... so hopefully there was enough spread that he at least caught a few pellets. He tried to go up a small oak tree about 3' or so and then thought the better of that and headed off towards the neighbors.

Caught a little bit of the BoSox/Phillies game and LA/Golden State while I was eating and afterwards as well.

Just finished up moving the Unisaw down to the garage a bit ago:

Dropped the pallet forks up in the shop after I finished that, will see if I can't get the SSQA "wings" welded on that tomorrow maybe.

Still need to get that mealworm feeder put up. Looks like I'll need to make a trip down to Eddie's for some mealworms too.

Hope everyone had a great Saturday ... (y)

I would really like to know how a BH is supposed to go on in 30 minutes. It only took the two of us 2 hours to get that sucker on.
But it is on and I cleaned out both ends of the culvert that I own.
The township one at the road, they can earn their keep and clean it. Tomorrow is stump and small tree day.
OK, so I guess it’s safe to take my rear blower off and put the backhoe on.

Coffee has finished brewing. 53° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 73° with morning rain and cloudy afternoon. Changed house and RO filters yesterday. Ordered new set of filters for next year. Got tire unmounted and tried to fix leak in side of tube. No luck. New tube showed up later in the day. Will get it installed later today. Need to start putting weed killer down around paver bricks.

good morning all
hoped to sleep in this morning but things running through my mind....
including, sigh....all the tools I left at the local school for workers to use while I was off at memorial service at my own church.
MIA
gone
no one knows where my pull cart and Makita tools and gardening equipment is.
Am pretty sure their caretaker put them away where I can't find them, but now the emails are getting livelier...
where are Drew's tools?
am not concerned, but really don't want to replace a thousand dollars worth of cordless tools, including my stash of 6 makita batteries.
one hour window when event coordinator left at 2pm and I showed up at 3pm to find an empty bench where all my stuff was piled.

44 going up to 77 today, very nice sunny day, with light rain tonight.
going to wash the car
I think there's a big fat red strawberry waiting for me too.

Ron, good reminder, I have to change my water system filters today also. Since I still get green stains on white sinks, not very satisfied with
performance, but then I went in with a smaller unit. Acidic water plus old copper pipes.

Spoke to AmEx. Payment was never Ccepted on vendor’s end, so was recredited back to our account and placed into “Pending” status. Had them cancel that payment entirely, and advised that an identical payment would be resubmitted momentarily and to ensure it is not flagged suspicious. Resubmitted payment, which apparently worked that time. Emailed copies to vendor of all the transaction confirmations, plus the AmEx email regarding the “pending” transaction (made before the due date) which a note “suggesting” they find out the problem on their end with the rejected payment. Yay. . .

Good Morning
44 with a high in the low 70’s today.

Yesterday was slow moving, but got a few things done. Went to daughters house to put up some shades and have lunch with her.
Did some cleanup in the shop and a little bit of paperwork before oldest son and grandson came up to fly models, youngest son and his wife and dog came to visit as well, daughter showed up with her two dogs, so we had a regular dog festival going on. They all stayed for an impromptu cookout.

This morning I’m getting ready to do to Sarasota again to pick up the people that we dropped off on Wednesday. Should be back early this afternoon, I’ve got the drone charged up, we want to try to take some air to air video of the RC planes. We’ll see how that goes.
The runway is noticeably better than it was prior to rolling.

Won’t get anything done tomorrow, as I’m off to Marsh Harbour, but when I get back I shouldn’t have to go anywhere for a few weeks, but that is always subject to change. One of the problems of working for yourself is that you are stuck with a taskmaster for a boss.
