Video said that it was harder on tracks, I never thought about it either way.
I think he was talking about a regular pivot turn. I know I did a pivot (not a jump) on our gravel and the treads chewed it all up and the horrible grinding noises of gravel in the treads and rollers was not particularly fun…

Good Morning
It’s 52 and supposed to gain about 20 degrees under cloudless skies today.

Yesterday was a good day, tinkered in the shop, got my tail wheel taken care of, cleaned up a bit, wife and I went to lunch with son and his family.
We then measured for the next fence repair looks like I’ve got just short of 700 feet of woven wire fabric to replace on this phase. The posts all seem pretty decent, but the wire is in awful condition. The worst part of the job will be pulling out all the staples on the old fence.
I see that Milwaukee now has an M18 cordless fence stapler that should make putting the new wire up easy once it’s stretched. Of course I don’t have any M18 tools, but I also see that I can get an adapter to use my Makita batteries.

Put some flagstone under and around the bench at the pond, and let grandson spray the Toro Workman with the foam cannon on the pressure washer, he thought that was really fun. Cleaned up and put everything away, and called it a day.

Today we have to drop a plane off at the Citation Service Center in Stewart, NY, I’m going to fly a little plane to pick them up, it’s less than a hundred mile trip so it shouldn’t take very long, except driving back and forth to the airport. Zoe has school this evening, be interesting to see how that goes.
If you aren’t going to reuse the staples, why not just snip the fence on one side, pull though on the other, and just leave them there?

that looks wise Frits. Be careful. But then you are an engineer...
I had to laugh, sounds like me thinking about my back operation:
My priorities are shifting to have do something to shore up the structure. Will have to gather up screw jack and supports and rig it up.

Yes both are structural issues and require supports. Good luck with your upcoming operation

Good Morning!!!! 64F @ 5:45AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 91F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
No rain in the 10-day again, but the high will drop down to 89F a week from Wednesday. WooHoo!

Hope you find the missing tail wheel, Paul, but not with a mower...

Congrats on making the 170,000th post to the GM thread, David. That's a lot of Good Mornings!!!!
Oh, the page count using Firefox on a Mac laptop has gone past 17.000, FWIW.

Thanks for including the jump turn video, JKC. It's early, and I just couldn't picture it in my mind. Been doing something similar with the TLB, not sure what it's called, though.

Turned the water off yesterday and got the valve on the outside shower replaced. Not sure why, but the new cartridge valve wouldn't fit when I first tried, so I took it into the garage and closely compared it with the old one. Not the same at all, which I discovered after disassembling the new one. But when I put it back together, it fit fine. Maybe it wasn't properly assembled at the factory? Or was it just another sign I'm losing my mind?

While the water was off I also took a leaking faucet apart and replaced the packing on the valve stem. Then went around rearranging hoses so there's one at each corner of the house, and tightening them so no more leaks. Then put the outside shower head in some vinegar to soak overnight. And that completed my plumbing adventures for the day, without having to make even one trip to the hardware store. Don't think that's ever happened before.

Sat under the new porch cover watching the buzzards and barn swallows antics for a while, enjoying the shade, the light breeze, and a margarita with a side shot of anejo, both Costco store brand and surprisingly good. Which reminds me I still haven't posted any video of the birds, so maybe I'l get to that today. Meantime, here are a few pics made over the past few days.

One of the lupines (what we call bluebells in Kalifornia).

Butterflied a skirt steak, cut it into strips, then hammered the heck out of it to tenderize. Lightly seasoned with tritip rub, rolled it into a hockey puck, then cut that into a pair of nice little round steaks, one for dinner, one for the freezer. Dug an ear of corn out of the fridge and microwaved it in the husk, and got a pot of baked beans seasoned with chipotle powder, molasses, and garlic. When the corn was done, tried a YouTube trick and just cut the stalk end off with a knife and squeezed the tassel end, causing the ear to squirt out of the husk with not a single silk sticking to it. Good eats!

Today looks like an electrical day. One of the batteries in the UPSs died, so I'm gonna try to replace it with the marine battery that came off the gate opener. And I want to permanently mount the speakers under the porch cover, and maybe even a half dozen LED lights if I get super ambitious.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

Good morning! 59° now, hi of 76°. Yesterday was nice but breezy.

Not sure what I am going to get into today. Lots of yard work needs done. Grass needs mowed again. May work on sorting some issues with tractor attachments out. Or not. I will find something to get into.

Everyone stay safe out there!

I checked out the The Bassoon Brothers videos. I don't think the sound quality is really letting you get a feeling for the sound those instruments are making. I bet they are great live.
