Yes the scars of war runs deep Jay. Wife's father suffered for many years and spilled over into my wife's life during her childhood. She remembers him set up gun positions in the basement and going nuts if sitting in movie theater under balcony. I married her young and it was good to get her out of this. In those days there was no mental treatments available

84F and "Fair" @ 14:00, HI 87F, heading up to around 87F actual for the high today supposedly.

Woman turned on AC "to keep you cool" while I slept, seems pleasant here inside ... not sure what it's like outside though.

She got the east planting bed all watered this morning, said it went better ... after She figured out that She needed to open the vent valve to let air in ... ;)

Did make it up to the shop last night and got some work done.

Blade sharpener came packed pretty well:

Included two copies of the set of instructions, printed on glossy paper with color photos. Suspect that those are a word-for-word duplicate of All American's instructions given the non-butchered English. Mixed thoughts and feelings about that.

Relatively easy to set up, and made short work of sharpening the original set of blades off the Cub Cadet - took maybe 15 minutes total to do all three blades ... but then they were in pretty decent shape ... ;):

The edges are not perfect yet, as I tried to remove as little material as possible. Will take a few sharpenings to get them completely cleaned up.

The jig does have a detent every 5 degrees for each major angle.

The angle settings for Cub blades vs. the Kubota MMM are significantly different, likely due to the design/shape of the blade.

Had the jig clamped in the vise, will need to figure out a different mounting for the permanent set up as that is a little high ... particularly with the Kubota blades as they are much longer:

Kubota blades were in much worse shape ... to the point it's going to require a good bit of work with the snagging wheel to get them cleaned up:

Overall, pretty happy with the purchase, seems like a good value for the money.

Comparison of one of the original Cub blades that I just sharpened last night and one I took off the other day with the unusual wear pattern:

Just went over that with The Woman, She said "Don't even waste your time trying to sharpen them ... just get a new set ..."

Not sure what I'll get up to for the rest of the day ... but it will probably involve shade wherever possible and some watering of plants.

Need to take garbage up to road (they always run a day behind when there is a holiday)

Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday ... (y)

that breakfast sandwich looks like a feast.

successful trip to dentist, no surprises.
now changing clothes and heading outside to move the ferns.
it's time for more action and less talk... ;)

fiberglass repair kit did not come, might put one more layer of the first stuff on.
It's getting more level

I'm getting blade envy looking at RS's contraption

Mid 80's pushing 90. No rain in sight. Killing the farmers. Local VFD do not get paid enough. Twice today, they rolled out past my house. Last one was 3/4 acre field fire just down the road. Tinderbox by us

Good Afternoon - currently 73°

Been nice today -- rain guage had 2 inches in it from the last 3 days..

M7040 -- what type of flowering tree is that? It is a pretty tree.. Looks close to house..

Mark
I think it a native dogwood growing behind a wood fence close to the utility shed. Between that is driveway and patio leading into the kitchen. They have been there for many years and don’t think they will get much bigger
