I bought a used Woods 72 off FB and like a dummy raised it too high for the top link setting and busted the PTO shaft. The bottom end (cutter side) may be okay but the tractor side is toast.

Can I buy just the one side or do I need the whole thing? Recommendations on where to buy?

Pictures of what is actually broke??
You can purchase just the parts that you need. Just need
to know the part number or just purchase a new one..

I'll get pictures in a minute. The bush hog side of the pto has the square rod that slips into the tubing on the tractor side pto. The tubing is what shattered.

This is the bush hog end and should be fine once I pull the broken piece out.

Call these people. Best in the business. They can fix or replace any PTO shaft/issue

After taking it apart and looking it over in the daylight I think I may just have a buddy weld it back together. May may an inch or so shorter but I think it'll be okay.

What do y'all think?

I had to cut one open to retrieve a broken portion of the other side out of it and welded it. I'd cut it some so you have nice strong material and clean edges, then weld away. Looks like someone already has at least once.

Yea I don't believe that bottom weld is by Woods either.

Welding will be fine just keep the U joints in phase and the shaft straight.
