Tractor
2023 Mahindra 5155
Hello everyone, wanted to stop by and introduce myself. Name's Darren, hailing from South Carolina and newly retired US Army guy.

Recently purchased 15 acres, building my retirement home, and creating a small farm. Purchased a '23 Mahindra 5155 yesterday, picking it up Saturday. I grabbed a Root Grapple, a Box Blade and a Bush Hog, as attachments to augment the bucket that comes on the tractor.

I was on the fence between the 5155 and the 5145, but decided on the 5155.

This is my first tractor, and I look forward to using it clearing my property.

Been lurking on here a while, doing my research. I must say, this forum was very helpful with me making my decision.

Cheers!

Darren

LOL!!!

True, I've never been known to do anything halfway... I plan to use it in our business as well. I was a wee bit shy on the turbo, which is why I was leaning towards the 5145... but, I decided on the 5155 and just snagged it. I'm meticulous with maintenance and being a career Army dude, it's ingrained in me to take care of my equipment. I like the weight of this tractor and for the most part, everyone that has one, loves it.

now on my JD ZTM my wife actually gets upset if I mow the yard, but one look at all the levers and 3 gear shifters and she said "not me!". I failed to mention that there is a reason that I did not get a HST lol.

it will be ok, Mahindra has been making that engine for a long time. There is a whole section in the service manual dedicated to maintaining the turbo. I personal avoided it because I'm on flat ground with a lot of trees so 12 foot rotary cutters are not in my future. I'm also used to working 35 hp tractors in hilly terrain.

keep a close eye on the fuel filter hanging out where it can get damage when operating around branches laying on the ground. there is a sensor on the bottom of it that is a magnet for random objects.
