Please help...47 or 57 HP series 3?

Spent all morning at the dealership. This is the last tractor for my dad and his acreage. He has never had a new tractor in his life and now his days are fleeting (health condition daily chemo pills) we are looking at the Hydro with cab either the 347 or 357. Noticed the 357 has 2 gallon larger fuel tank...is that because it burns that much more fuel? Price difference is $2900. First time LS buyer. Please feel free to share any thoughts, opinions or experiences.

Use will be primarly a grapple for brush followed by a bercomac self contained 33HP 72 inch wide snowblower followed by a cycle bar mower for ditches.

If the 357 is in the budget, get the 357. You can never go wrong with a 357 .

Then one has fuel turned up higher. Ford 4 cyl tractors are the same. 5610, 6610, 7610, same engine.

None of the listed applications are horsepower intensive. Spend the $2900 to get your dad another attachment or two to make his life easier, or add a few tractor options. The cab with AC and heat will be a God send if he's coming from an open station machine!

thanks guys...we are getting the cab and air version...yeah, that $ would pay for the grapple. Called a big dealer down in TX, they sell way more of the 57 than the 45, 47, or 52s. keep replies coming please and thanks!

I say more power the better if you can afford it..

Using less throttle makes the 57 into a 47 hp tractor. So you get two choices for the price of one.

I have a MT3 42 and use a front mount 72" snow-blower. I have 1,700' drive-way to clean out. I wish I would have bought the 57 Hp tractor. The 42 Hp does the job but slow.
