Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly…).

57.2F, going to upper 80s or low 90s, depending on which foreliar you listen to…

Shopping trip with mom went well, lunch was good. Spent the hot part of the day on the deck, the took the dogs up to the woodlot around 5-ish and tried running the sprinklers. My little sump hole in the creek silted up terribly and clogged the sprinklers, so I landed up having to water by hand. I really need to find some 2” tube and get my irrigation system in. I had found some online for a “reasonable” cough hack price, but the shipping was $700+ which even the customer service guy was horrified at! I didn’t order it there, still looking…

saw neighbor as we were heading home, he was mowing around his home, told him we would be back around same time and that I would fire up the excavator to clear that fallen tree. He was happy about that.

Sehior dog has midday vet appointment for butt-squeeze and pedicure (buff, no color), then repeat afternoon deck time before heading to woodlot (but without dogs today). Maybe plant a row or two of hard corn and some okra? We’ll see.

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe productive blessed day!

58 going to 87. Feels great outside, except Code Red, Unhealthy air Quality due to the Canada smoke. I saw where Canton, Ohio was at 364 yesterday. I think that's equivalent to sticking your head in a wood stove. I've read this year's fires aren't as bad as some previous years, but I guess the wind is blowing south more.

Don, did you take the cruise serving meals with the good diet?

Thomas, your wife and doctor may be onto something, but also consider that if working makes you happier than hanging out at home, that happiness had a big impact on health, too.

m70, glad your doctor report was good. Cool table...just a bit surprised to see the snacks there.

Sodamo, real nice job on those tables.

Yesterday I rebuilt the bird feeder I had made my wife for Christmas years back, using an interesting 3 branching cedar as the post. Raccoons, squirrels and bears had not been kind to it. Then I dug out a grassy area to expand her flower garden. She had found a red-hot-poker to plant...a flower I've been talking about lately, but wouldn't pay the high price marked when we bought plants in early May. She planted the leftover marigolds from the tray we used around our tomatoes

We picked our first zucchini yesterday. I'm glad we got started early before the air got so smoky.

Good Morning
It’s a 67degree and hazy, foggy morning. Fog is already burning off, high in the upper 70’s. I suspect haze from the Canadian smoke will linger though.

Yesterday went according to plan, Costco was no different than any other trip, I left the usual $400 poorer. Picked up a brisket and some pork shoulders, planning to put the pork in the smoker tonight, the boys are coming to play music tomorrow, it will make a good meal for them.

Got 6 out of 10 bulbs up in the hangar and the ballasts bypassed. The LED’s make the old bulbs look pretty yellow.

One of the passing storms left me some tree work, the grapple on the tractor will come in handy again. It looks like the storm was a minor contributor, not much attacking that trunk to the tree.

Today’s plan is to finish the lights in the hangar, clean out and reload the firebox on the smoker, and trim and rub the pork shoulders to get them ready to go tonight. Tree cleanup might wait a day or two for the ground to firm up, so I don’t leave ruts with the tractor. Not a lot else planned, maybe fly a little RC.

Good morning, 65 going to 83. Low was 57. Air quality alerts continue for the area

Stayed mostly inside yesterday. Did do some paperwork and bill clean up. Insurance rates have gone up the most I have seen in a long time.

Did not get the tiller mounted so hope to do that today. Will see what else to get into.

Good morning! 56° now, high of 84°? I have my doubts about the high, with all of this haze it is gonna shade us from the sun. Late day sun yesterday was very red from the smoke. This is supposed to be worst fire season ever in Canada.

Not sure what I will get into today. Tried to till the garden yesterday and drive belt broke. Fortunately was able to get a belt at the Amish mower shop near by. Saved a trip to town.

Everyone stay safe out there!

Morning all, 70 going up to 83 and cloudy/smoky
Could smell the smoke last night walking the pup.

Jay, maybe our wives are related mentally, hope that mellows out.

KC- I still have my grandfathers rat tail and triangular files. My father seems to have given away the saws and auger drill. My grandfather started out as a carpenter and ended up as treasurer of the union.

Wngsprd - the weather service said this was the worst year on record for the Canada wildfires and is happening much earlier than normal. Of course the records only go back a few hundred years.

Did some general cleanup and planting around pool etc.

This afternoon at Dr for lots of tests.

Lots of baby rabbits hopping around out front.

Be well,

Visitor to our basement last night, must have come in when taking dog for walk or unloading groceries. Now relocated to front bushes. Did not look too healthy.

Morning all.
Got decent sleep last night after almost no sleep the night before.
Spent yesterday starting new set of house plans for the lot, based on a design I liked I saw on YouTube. Nice to dream. I posted it in my lot thread.
Did not venture out except to go to midweek Bible study which I taught last night.
Pretty smoky here, will hold off on mowing.

Good Morning!!!! 73F @ 5:45AM. Plentiful sunshine. Hot. High 102F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

Retorqued the wheel bolts on the van yesterday; all of them needed about 1/8 of a turn to reach the specified 145 lb. ft. Gave the front and rear camera lenses a good cleaning, and ordered a very long handled brush for washing the rest of the body. Also ordered oil and filters for it, and a new Dewalt shop vac that is supposed to be unusually quiet. Tired of having to wear muffs every time I go to clean up. Was feeling a bit rich after first Social Security check was deposited.

Mail man was supposed to deliver held mail yesterday, but I guess he forgot. Haven't gotten any mail for two weeks.

Need to get the sprinkler system on the roof installed on the new gutters, and am not looking forward to going up on the big ladder to do it. Gonna be one of those little bit at a time kind of jobs.

Found this on Facebook yesterday. Never seen anything like it!

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!
