It was a brand new carb, I was not impressed.
I've gotten brand new carbs off my neighbor because he always used Teflon tape. A piece always gets between needle and seat. I'd gladly pay the core charge and he'd go get another.

If the old radiator doesn't leak, I'd put it back on, and run it until it had pups. I've got a half dozen 50's era tractors with OEM radiators and all have the original ones, and they get worked pretty hard occasionally. If it ever does leak, I'd consider getting it re-cored IF you have a decent radiator shop in your area. Being that old, many won't repair them because the core is just plain rotten, and hard to repair.
