My 5 would go through a RB per ~1 week.

Everywhere those round bales touch will quickly turn to mushy, moldy rotted hay.
There is the possibility the cattle operation is so enormous, that those bales would be fed in a few days, but highly unlikely.
I count about 144 rounds

Another field dropped. This one is about 20 acres of junky flood plain. Notice the pipeline emergency shut off switch?
Some lady hit one of them with a bush hog and caused some damage.

A guy I know worked at a ranch in northern BC. That would be a 7 day supply in winter. The semi loads would come in and they would just unload in the field. 22 bales at a time.
Thats probably a herd of about 1500.

So back at it today. First we mowed some farm field edges for a conservancy we subcontract for. Here is a trail we mow out to some plaques commemorating battle ground where blood was shed during the Revolutionary War.

I consider it an honor to be a steward of such a historic place in this country. The barn to the right was built in the 1860’s, long after the war.

After that, I switched to cutting this hay parcel. Its about 50 acres on the PA/DE border. It also has walking trails.
Looks like the Canadian Smoke from Trudy’s campfire is back…..

As always, my furry woodland friends are looking for some easy treats. This fox practically ran alongside the tractor & mower for hours gobbling down moles, voles, mice, etc. Also had some hawks & vultures come hang out with me.

Amazing how close they will get to the tractor & mower. A barn swallow is flying right over the fox’s head lol

There was a decent breeze and the grass seeds were really flying.
Notice the front panel of my engine cover is covered with seeds & chaff?
The Massey has air brakes, so I can blow that off in a minute with my air compressor & hose.

I always enjoy watching the Hawks when mowing, amazing how fast they can just drop out of the sky and that sudden flare and up with a snack.
