I was wondering what is the best operating temperature for BX2230. Mine seems to be around 75F even when working hard. Is that normal, thanks

I 'm sorry I may have misled you. I mean the temperature gauge on tractor is reading 75 F

I hope you mean 75 def C. If so, that sounds about 10 degrees too cool to me.

I don't think it's even possible for that engine to operate with coolant at 75 degrees f , other than the brief period while it's warming up.
Normal operating temps vary, but I would imagine your BX is supposed to be around 180-190 degrees. What gauge are you reading 75 degrees?

Whhaaaat? Maybe if you are in snow country and your thermostat is stuck wide open it would read 75F. It would not be running good though. Like RjC asked...what gauge are you reading?

If the coolant temprature is only getting to 75F, something is WRONG. First thing I would check is if a thermostat is even installed.

I would think that the temp would be between 190 & 210
get a new temp gage!
Is the gage even hooked up???????????

Yah you have to mean C not F but even that is a bit cool at 167F=75C

I've never had reason to check the thermostat or temp of the engine coolant - with a thermometer. The gauge always comes up to the same operating temps - blazing hot or freezing cold. Looks to be around 180F.

On days like yesterday - the coolant STARTS OUT - hotter than 75F. It was 96F here in the shade.
