Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

63.0F going to mid 80s chance of…

Harry happy to be back, Bailey not too thrilled… According to trainer’s partner, he is very “conversational”… so they are probably happy he is back home too 😂🤣. We did sign him up for Intermediate Training in October, so they will have him back for a month, so it can’t be THAT bad, can It? Although $$$ talks, and they know our checks clear…

Mrs said that the Druggies had some dramatics last night but I slept through it. i also slept through the squirrel scampering on the side of the house around 3AM… probably a flying squirrel:

so now I have to try to figure out how to dissuade the little bugger from hanging on the house and waking up Mrs. Yay.

today is primarily an administrative day, and later in the afternoon we will be returning to where Mrs got the doll collection because the guy has a pnother batch of items he wants to give away to us, so this run will be with the pickup truck since there are several decorative indoor artificial trees in the mix.

my working p-class blue collar family made sure I was going to not be a manual laborer so I went to a college prep high school, so no shop or other practical classes for me. I wanted to go to the VoTedh school, but I was outvoted... Now I am learning to PDW to run an excavator.

you can tell that whoever designed that poster probably doesn’t know which end of the screwdriver to hood…

I was lucky in that my grandparents were quite the DIYers and I learned a lot from them, from woodwork to upholstery and many other hands-on practicalities.

Tree work on Wednesday - I have to call and confirm that is still on schedule.

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe productive blessed day!

Thanks. I have one on my grease gun now...am able to reach it fine...it just won't accept any grease...big blob quickly forms around the zerk. The zerk is on the rear universal joint on the drive shaft.
Good Morning wngsprd,
Sorry, I misread your post ! Could it be a defective zerk fitting ? Sounds similar to when I am trying to grease the cutter spindles on my old Wheel Horse C-125. I just think that they really dont need much grease, any excess just comes up through a pin hole in the spindle !
I have only replaced one spindle on the mower in 41 years !

All have a blessed day today !

Good Morning
66 with a high of 80 today, chance of scattered showers throughout the day.
Yesterday went almost as planned. Lazy day, take KubVan to RC field and fly the plane that I converted to electric.
The only pop up repairs were to plastic weld a leaking gas tank on a 17.5kw Generac generator and read the codes on a Prius to determine that a recently replaced coolant valve wasn’t plugged in. Connecting it solved the problem, and cleared the code.
Moved some hay from the shed to the barn and went to bed early to catch up on the sleep I missed on Saturday night.

Today I’ve got to pack up the speaker and get it to FedEx, cut a little sandblast mask for the Rockman, then back to Martha’s Vineyard this afternoon. Probably a Mission BBQ dinner after that.

Good morning, 65 going to 85 no rain

Weeded and seeded yesterday up in the fenced garden and got hoses hooked up and watering. Because it is so dry the deers eat plants that they normally would leave alone. And Raccoons I am sure are busy too. Had a groundhog that went under one of the building and was trying to trap it. Yesterday the bait was stolen but trap did not set. Reworked the trap a little to prevent that. This morning a raccoon was in it.

May mowe a bit today and also may string trim some.

Sitting on the balcony watching the deers with a cup of coffee

75F and sunny @ 10:30, heading up to around 86F for the day's high. Mix of clouds and sun with a stray shower or thunderstorm possible again.

Thunderstorms that came through last evening which much more intense to the north and east, looks like the CLE and eastern counties really got dumped on.

Heading out in a few to continue with squash planting while that side of the garden is still in shade.

Still need to refill the tube feeders, hopper feeder is probably due again as well, also suet feeder.

Will try to get the weed block fabric down on west side of garden if we get some cloud cover at some point.

Beyond that bags on Japanese Beetle traps need changed out again, still catching some but not as many as when we first put them out.

Grass needs mowed but probably won't get to that until tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great Monday ! ... (y)

Good Morning!!!! 57F @ 8:00AM. Cloudy skies early, then partly cloudy this afternoon. High around 75F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph.

Another nice day here in Lompoc. Took the dog for a hike at the old mission, left overs for dinner. There are two plum trees here, and we picked half a grocery bag worth to give away today. Had the ripest ones for dessert last night.

Realtor came up with a list of repairs for the new home, which we whittled down to the most significant ones that we'll ask for the seller to pay for. Looks like that list will go to the seller today. Another step closer.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start.

Overcast humid morning. Hope we get some rain.
Nice last night for the hot dog roast after service.
We had gotten a light rain at home while we were gone, enough to dampen the ground but not register in the gauge.
Got ambitious this morning and before breakfast gave some squeaky cabinet hinges a drop of oil. Wife been squeaking about them.
I wanted to take shop class but couldn’t fit it in with college prep classes. It would have been much more useful in life than French classes.
But my older brother took shop and I learned it from him. Most of my woodworking projects I did before college, including making several lamps which we still use, jewelry boxes, a bed, and table. We also did a lot of construction work on the farm, and engine rebuilds, etc. I learned needlepoint before I was school age.
I was into music, bought a guitar in middle school, but just never got the hang of playing it. But I was in a singing group in Jr high and we performed once at the county fair.

After breakfast I decided to replace a rotten broken post in my front fence. Wife noticed it leaning last week, it’s been leaning 2 years now, but got worse.
IMG_0229.JPG

I’ve had a spare in the barn since the last one I had to replace. I’ve only had to replace 3 or 4 posts in 15-20 or so years. I replaced 2 of the rails, and a few under the pine trees are bad.
Snagglepuss approved

Now sitting in front of fan on front porch trying to dry off. Humid out. Got recycling and trash cans in.

I took Home Economics in HS, great way to meet the girls. And, it "Amercanized" my food experience. Mom, being of old Europe about stroked out learning of my culinary direction. Her gift though, in time, won out.

I failed World of Construction in Jr. High. We actually built small scale home thingies. Don't know why I got the "F".
My wife and friends now marvel at my construction skills. "Who built... did the work...what company..." Me, myself and I. LOL. Only time is slowing me down. I have two more wish lists items on my agenda. A nice three car garage, replacing a farm equipment/garage mashup that is a hundred years old, and wrapping my new tool shed in vinyl. After those projects are done, if ever, it's pure maintain mode till the reaper cometh. If I get the garage, I can finish my restomod chevy. So that goal fulfils the dreams.

Marine Corp aviation is buzzing the house. With the nice sky I should go out and see if I can "get some...". LOL.

Good Afternoon Guys,
This morning I started working my way around the hedge rows in the field with the Ranger, trimming low hanging branches as I went ! Got quite a bit done but then came the heat and humidity back ! I usually cut the field in early June and then again later in September. I really hate getting whacked in the face while running the Bush Hog ! Going to need some cooler weather to finish that project !

All have a glorious day !
