After fixing a circuit short in my AC compressor clutch, I reassembled my Tractor cab and turned on the AC unit. Initially, everything seemed fine for about 2 seconds, but then a loud POP sound occurred. I ruled out fuse issues. However, I later discovered that I accidentally swapped the AC temp dial and blower fans plugs, which I believe is the cause of the issue. Beyond looking at the fuses what else should I try? Sounds to me like a failed refrigerant hose. Did you overcharge the system? Hopefully not a failed-ruptured evaporator. They are expensive in any unit.

Pinch wire.

Fuses relays and start tracing wires. Shouldn't be too complex as vehicle AC is pretty simple, electrically.

I am assuming you have an electrical problem from what you said, but re-reading that is not clear.

The temp control is typically just a rheostat. You probably burned that but may not be the worst. Feeding 12v to the controller when it expects to see a resistance most likely fried the controller. Without having a diagram of your system, it's hard to say.

I did purchase a new controller thinking that was the issue as well but it didn't fix the issue. I believe I have a spare thermostat somewhere. I'll give that a shot as well.

Not thermostat, rheostat. It's a variable resistor.
