What spray lube do you like?

The world seems to default to WD40 for all spray lubricant applications. But I don't think it was even supposed to be a lubricant, it was supposed to displace water (I read that they were trying Water Displacer formulas and the 40th trial worked really well, hence WD40).

I'm going back to LPS1 for lighter lubrication and LPS2 for heavier. I had to order it, whereas you can practically get WD40 at convenience stores. But it is designed for lubrication.

I'm sticking with WD40 for displacing water, for example on the battery maintainer plugs and sockets.

For preventing rust, I like Fluid Film, which is wool wax in a spray can.

I have a few cans of fluid film around, but I have absolutely no cans of WD-40 on my property

I have to admit that I have some WD-40. It was given to me, so I use it on the band saw blade.

For freeing up rusted things, I think it's next to useless. Especially when compared to a 50/50 mix of acetone and ATF.

For normal daily use it's generally JB-80, aka Twice as Good. Which compared to WD-40 isn't saying much.

Liquid Wrench White Lithium Grease for anything that doesn't have a zerk. Mostly use WD40 to clean with, not really for lubrication.

LPS #1 (like WD40), LSP #2 (light lubricant) and LSP #3 (heavy thicker protectant and lube for stuff left out in the elements). LSP products are good stuff. Been using it for years.

PB Blaster for most general things but Kroil if I need heavy duty penetration. Got hard to find Kroil locally so now I just order from Amazon.

I have my vehicles sprayed with it for rust control and no bolts are ever seized on them.

Plus you can get different formulations in can. For rust prevention, penetrating oil, safe on electronics, etc.

We get 6 months of salt and de-icing chemicals on the roads here and it has proven itself to me.

PB blaster is my go to. Kroil is better but it’s expensive.

I use a lanoline based spray lubricant for darn near everything... if it moves, but doesn't have a grease nipple, it gets a 'shot' of "LANOX MX4" (Aussie product).

I do use a silicon spray for household hinges and along the top of curtain rods.

WD40 has it places.

Also, when I posted earlier, I should’ve mentioned the reason I do not like WD-40 is because it makes me nauseous, one of the few things in my life that really makes me feel ill other than gross bodily crap
