metal roof install over shingle, how to flash cupola?

Barn has an existing shingle roof and cupola. I'm going over top of the shingles with metal. Been googling it and can't find a reference on how to flash the cupola. Best I can figure is that I need to remove it, put down the metal and then reinstall it so the flashing sits on top of the new roof.

update: I think the existing flashing is removable, so I'm thinking I remove that, roof it, reinstall old flashing
