Pricing pallet forks

Guys, I'm finally grown up enough to buy real pallet forks instead of the bolt-on mess that came with my tractor.

I'm looking for 36" forks, and the cheapest ones I found with a headache rack was at Titan for $660. These.

Is that a good price for pulling the trigger, or should wait until they have a sale? Or is there another vendor I should look at?

It has a 4000 pound weight rating, so that’s good. Are you sure that you want such short forks? My 48” forks are easy to see the tips, but I don’t think I could see the tips on 36” forks, making them difficult to use.

I researched it a bit, including watching tractor time with Tim's video on it. He's got a good vid on that topic. 4k weight rating is totally overkill for my little massey, but the only forks rated less (thus lighter) from Artellian are double the cost of those Titans.

36" seems a good fit for what I need them for, moving logs and concrete, stuff like that. But I also want to buy fork extensions from Vevor, for when I need longer reach. They're like 83 bucks, and they turn those 36ers into 60" forks!

Titan Attachments is an importer, not a manufacturer. Most of the stuff is from China. That may or may not matter to you.

They also copied an actual manufacturer name and set up their call center/warehouse in the same state. The manufacturer changed their name to avoid the confusion.

I am very focused on value. I cannot bring myself to buy anything from them.

Buy directly from a manufacturer or from your dealer. Lots of good brands out there.

Well heck if I avoided stuff made in China, jeez, I'd have way less stuff. I've bought from Titan and Vevor before, I've been satisfied.

I've used my palletforks.com (Titan) forks a lot and have no issues with them.

Got 48 inchers at first, but quickly realized that 60" was far more versatile. Also have extensions, but have only used those maybe twice.

At the time, about 10 years ago, they cost about half. Sure glad I got the tractors and lots of implements back then.

Do an experiment. Tape some 36” sticks to the inside back of your bucket, like the pallet forks would be positioned. Do the same with 48” sticks. Get on your tractor and see if you can see the tips of the sticks. If you can’t see the tips from your tractor seat, think how hard it would be to use them.

i have a 42" set for my JD from titan. i snapped off one of the pins and bent the hook on mine. my fault i stuck it in the ground when bush hogging but i let off te clutch in plenty of time, weld was penetrated less than 1/8 in. i doubt 4k lbs is achievable. they were a few months out of warranty. no help from titan

It is not about whether you can find examples of things that work. It is whether you are comfortable being complicit in unethical practices and to what degree. I find these guys to be despicable in their practices and will not do business with them. As long as you are aware of their practices and are OK with it, more power to you.

I recently purchased a pair of Tomahawk brand forks from my dealer for $790. These forks are 48" in length and can hold up to 2800lbs. They appear to be well-built and are a great full-size option.
