Thoughts on towing this with what we currently have

I assume a cab/chassis? I was talking pick up trucks, ya know, with a pickup bed. Also, the '97 Ford is apples and oranges with the 2000 model. In '99 Ford introduced an all new truck.

However, my '01 Dodge 2500 also has a 5200lbs front axle and a D-80 rear, 11" gear and 4" rear axle tubes. Dodge/Ram, since the Cummins, with a Cummins, has always built the 250/2500 nearly identical to the 350/3500 SRW.

Now, if ya wanna talk trailer builds, we can do that too

I’ve just had the truck a little while but it’s a flatbed so I assume it was probably delivered as a cab/chassis. I have a CDL so it doesn’t matter to me but I was surprised to see 12,500 on a truck from that year.

So the 3500 we wanted to look at is sold. This is the next best one we both like but its a SRW:

I feel the numbers for this works out to tow the trailer I listed easily. It has 29k gcrw with a payload of 4085 from what the specs show that I found on chevys site.

Just an update and will share pictures later but picked up a 2016 gmc sierra 3500 dually (diesel) last week. 39k miles and super clean truck. It'll set us back a few years at upgrading our trailer but should make the trailer buying process easier when the time comes.
