People who don’t respect private property and people who don’t pick up after themselves.

I was just reminded of another pet peeve.

When my wife stops the microwave with one or two seconds left, and doesn't hit the stop/cancel button. So, the next person throws their food in the microwave and starts hitting the "30 second" button or tries to enter a cook time, but find you can't, until you clear the remaining time.

I must be starting to get crotchety in my old age. ;) Little things are starting to irk me.

I have a couple of pet peeves that revolve around dinner time. I do most of the cooking at dinner. In no particular order:

1. My wife deciding that she or the girls should unload the dishwasher, right when I'm in the middle of cooking.

2. Deciding that the time to get your drink is right when I put everything on the table and ready to plate it. So, the meal sits there getting cold while people finally get their drinks. Even though I continuously call out when the meal is going to be hitting the table.

3. Not knowing how to use a steak knife and act like you're trying to cut through the plate. Related: Dumping all the silverware (including referenced steak knifes) into the sink, so the sharpened blades of the steak knifes clang together and dull.

4. Not putting a knife out with the meal. Knifes aren't just for cutting, they help you push things onto your fork.

5. Not passing napkins out when setting the table.

6. Picky eaters. I think if you're a picky eater, you've never been forced to be hungry in your life.
A bit OCD aren't we? We never put out knives unless what we're eating might require it. Yeah, picky eaters can be annoying, but aren't we all picky about some things?
Had to laugh at #1, like you I do most of the cooking and for some reason my wife also seems to think she needs to wash a couple dishes or just generally buzz around the kitchen while I'm in the middle of food prep.

Left Lang hogging in general happens on 40 west from Little Rock To Conway.

With the added bonus of the idiot hogging the left lane, 10 under the speed limit, and slamming on their brakes anytime someone starts creeping up on them
Ahhhh ... you've driven I5 from LA to SF

I have an occasional house guest who does that, and it drives me crazy. Take two seconds to hit the cancel button for &%@* sakes.

Why don't biking enthusiast folks use bike paths running parallel to well traveled roads my property taxes helped pay for? Instead they apparently like traveling sometimes two wide on a curvy road not really even on the shoulder.

Two wide? I wish.

The last mile of road to the driveway where I used to live in CA is both quite steep and has some serious curves in it.

Just imagine pulling doubles with a Peterbilt and then come up on a flock of 30 to 50 bicyclists using both lanes. Yep, couldn't do much but shift into the lowest gear (which on an 18-speed is thankfully quite low), then watch spandex butts for the next 5 to 10 minutes.

Sometimes they would get into one lane and wave for me to go by. Okay, how? It wasn't like I could get past them on the one short straight section of road, before the next blind curve. Then they got mad because I didn't pass them.

I'm sure it happens out on most interstates. Across the country. those idiots need to be flogged
I would be happy if they just got summonsed occasionally.
I don’t know what it is about Florida visitors, but the last two times I went down to visit my mother I got behind vehicles with plates from that state who got into the left lane on the interstate and just stayed there. Both times I ended up passing them on the right… both times we were traveling at close enough speeds so that I went 20 miles or farther and could still see them in the left lane. (The first time it was closer to 50 miles, as they sped up and passed me again once I got around them.)

They must take move over and slow down literally and perhaps moved from Wisconsin.

Wait, you're from Maine! How did you get to Florida without passing through the traffic nightmare that is Connecticut? I've learned that the "passing lane" in that state is always the empty far-right lane, as everyone else is cruising 5-under in the left lane.

I wasn’t very clear, was I? When I said “down” I meant to southern Maine. The visitors were from Florida.

Actually, based on comments read elsewhere I suspect they were just locals who rented cars with Florida plates just to mess with us. :D

Try driving I-81 thru Virginia if you want left lane hogs. Any trip I've made on that route I regularly ran across them. Not so many in other states on that road.
Dunno if left-lane hogging is legal in Va. or if it's just not enforced.

Lived Virginia all my 71 years. You can go 4 mph over...so people set cruise control at 74 in a 70 zone. I hate people doing that also.

Shopping on the Googler looking at water softener salt found some bags for almost half the price of what there going for hurriedly drove to store advertising them only to find out they were 25lb bags after further investigation found the only way to get an accurate description is if I clicked them in my shopping cart online. Misleading E-commerce for a naive technology disliking individual has officially became my biggest pet peeve as of earlier this week and I stubbornly refuse to do future business with such an establishment.

Pet Peeve ... I've posted before on "Forum ghosts". The new poster that joins the forum with a tractor problem. Get info and advice then "ghost" the forum. Never come back to say advice was correct/incorrect or thank those that tried to help. It's a disservice to future folks searching for solutions and rude to the people that took time to post advice.

If this is you ... .Coming back to post tell everybody what advice WAS NOT the solution, is helpful too.
