I watched “To have and Have Not” last night. The first time Bogey and Bacall hooked up on screen. They basically stole the Casa Blanca script and changed things around a little. I still liked it.

That movie was their first together and definately changed the course of their lives.

I watched the movie "Race", about Jesse Owens, a week ago and wow it was really good. I love true sports movies.

Made me think what was going on in my life when this came out that I didn't know about it, then I remembered.

I don't go to the theater much, maybe once every few years and it takes a really good movie to get me to go. The wife and I saw Sound of Freedom yesterday and its an excellent and powerful film. The experience was something I never felt from a movie before. Its more than just a movie, its a calling.

Several of my friends have now seen Sound of Freedom and feel the same way about it so guess I'm going to have to buy it. Funny there seems to be a lot of controversy over the subject matter?

Lately I’ve taken to recording movies, most from TCM. I like the classics but you can only watch Casablanca and Stagecoach so many times. I’ve started recording a lot of lesser known movies and they often surprise me at how good they are. “The Fallen Sparrow“ is one I just noticed on my list made in 1943. I have no idea if it’s any good but I’ll find out.

Most likely considered a B movie. I really enjoyed "Park Row"', so much I recorded it on VHS years ago and rewatch every two to three years. Mary Welch is absolutely stunning. I love the late 1800's dress for both men and women.

Band of Brothers is on Netflix now. If you haven't seen that series, it's a a great one. Best series I've watched. 22 years old but you would never know it. Historically pretty accurate.

TV shows and movies with car chases and fights rarely hold my interest, especially during the chase and fight scenes. These are just chaos with no sense for however long the writer and director desire. Quite often cheaply staged as short close ups so close you can't really see anything happening, multiple flashing close ups one after the other. Then once the time has been spent whoever the plot desires emerges as victor.

Watch any movie or tv show. Saloons and Bars are the go to tabernacles of knowledge when information is needed.

You’re right on with your review. Just finished that show last week! Then watched The Pacific, also extremely good! How anyone made it through that is beyond me!
