Good movies,,, well there are a few.......

The circle channel shows lots of country music shows. I'm not a huge fan but i tend to leave circle on all day, muted. When i come in the camper for something it seems hee haw is always on. i know it's not but it seems that way.

Hee haw had some of the greatest musicians ever on their show. The humor was so so corny it was almost entertaining, in a groan sort of way.

What surprises me is virtually every joke is about either dumb women or being married to a nag. I focus on the faces of girl back up singers and nurse good body. They all kinda force a smile.

You're right. They had some great performers on the show. My Dad loved it, but I would watch it with mixed emotions. I spent many years listening to and playing classic country music, and Hee Haw did nothing to establish the respectability I thought pure Country music deserved. They have suffered from the "Western" and "Hillbilly" associations for a long time...but I think it's too late now anyway, country music has basically turned to commercial, teeny bopper, made in China crap.

Thank goodness there are still a few who know what "Pure" country music ought to be:

RIP...Charlie, Merle and Daryle.

The Blues Brothers is maybe my favorite movie, top 5 for sure, what a sound track!

IMHO the best line of the movie is when the band shows up at some rural country bar and the band asks, what kind of music do they like here?

The owner proudly says, we like both kinds of music here, country and western!

king may be an adequate story teller but in reality he is just another one of those mouthy goofs that thinks his celebrity gives him the right to try and influence anyone that will listen with his political leanings...
