Media advertising is designed to get you to buy the product from a specific seller. Media advertising is not designed to expand the number of people buying the product.

Car ads do not expand the number of folks buying cars - but it does try to make you buy a Chevy v a Ford.

Gold dealers make quite a good commission - look at their prices v spot gold price.

But - the worse is all these Advantage Medicare ads now that open enrollment is here. There must be huge $$$ in signing up someone for a Medicare Advantage plan!

Wonder what they pay Joe Namath?

See it every working day at the hospital... for some Advantage plans are golden and others have deep regret.

One sticking point is Advantage plans often offer transportation but hospital policy for many procedures is patient can't go home alone and Uber doesn't count...

I guess there is always against medical advice and some say the taxi driver is really their cousin Omar...

The kick in the teeth is that these prices were self inflicted by years of overspending and money supply creation. Last night, I was wondering if there would be a way to convert USD into some other currency that is more stable and still be able to pay my bills with the other currency?

The real question that no one thinks to ask is why the dealers would trade gold for U.S dollars if the paper currency is going to be worthless? Oooh that just destroyed Robert Kiyosaki and all the gold fear mongers!

With Russia and China having a friendship with no limits only time will tell.

We know what we can do as a country when united...

I was never more happy than to hear we are energy independent and in the back of my mind hoping the mideast troubles would be behind us as has so often been said... it's all about oil.

That moment of independence didn't last long but at least it happened.

Just my luck if I bought gold someone would find a way to cheaply make gold from sea water!

Plus… if gold is so great why sell it by advertising the heck out of it?

Unloading trucks for the neighborhood store owner taught me something: You have to buy products before your customer wants them in order to make money.

The time to buy gold is when everyone else wants stocks and options. The time to start advertising and selling gold is when everyone else wants gold.
The time to buy stocks is when everyone wants gold and safety. The time to start selling stocks is when everyone else is excited to buy stocks again.

The major retailers already have Christmas inventory bought and ready for advertising too.

I'm not saying whether a person should buy it or not, I'm just saying those fellers are a step ahead and will probably not be reinvesting their profits back into more gold at the moment.

I will add in if you have to use fear mongering or sales gimmicks to sell your product then it's a hard sale and not something people really want.

I just found out the local Massey Ferguson dealer bit the dust and is no longer in business. Can't say I'm too surprised. There were signs of major cracks that I picked up early on. I remember that dealer telling me they were selling the heck out of those tractors yet they had a yard full of them all the time. Now they went belly up. The economic storm that is hitting this industry is real.

Because the sellers of gold charge fees to sell it to you and if you store your gold in an IRA there’s storage fees.
It’s rare to buy gold at spot price with no markup
