Again, look at the facts related to your original claim. They don't support it.
Or are you egging me on to go political so you can slap my wrists and or delete my posts/account?

I’m kinda thinking that may be your tact now that I think about it!

I'm telling you to look up the facts. I won't post them here. Look up the GDP performance under each administration. Look up the employment numbers under each administration. You'll see who the real failures are. Then you can decide if you want to keep spouting untrue facts, or correct yourself.

Post YOUR facts, because I do not agree.

And apparently the American public do not agree with your facts either because POTUS’s poll numbers are in the toilet!

Something like 80% of the Democrats do not want him to run again!

Nope. You look them up yourself. You're the one that started the comments about Rosalynn's husband in this thread. I said you should look up the GDP and employment numbers of all the past administrations. You started going off about the current administration. I again suggested you look up the GDP and employment numbers of the past administrations. And again you went off on the current administration.

Look up those two numbers for yourself. You won't like them.

I think he just tried hard to be a good person, and the failed presidency was just a bad bump along the road of a very long life. His election was a bad national knee-jerk reaction to Nixon, and some of the other corruption happening at the time, and people naively thinking that electing a Boy Scout was a good idea. Unfortunately, peanut farming may not have been the best training for the presidency.
Even at that he was barely elected. Iirc, the margin was something like 22k votes in Ohio. Had those gone the other way, Ford would have won. Ford's pardon of Nixon helped heal the country, but for some it was a betrayal they couldn't forgive.

I've never understood celebrating the spouse of a politician (or anyone for that matter). She seemed like a good person, but there are thousands of better people who go unrewarded and unrecognized.

it would be nice to calm down the political rhetoric here, can't that be taken elsewhere?
let's take the killing babies comments elsewhere and stop beating
political drums

Having an ethical President is critical to all of us. We just clearly have different ethics in mind.
The Carters are/were good people. That's enough for me.

Moss, adjust GDP for inflation and suddenly things look differently.

There are also a lot of factors that move the needle. Growth under FDR was not great, but 1942 showed huge gdp growth. Pretty obvious as to why. Presidential policies are also affected by Congress. Those who have to fight Congress to enact policy have less influence than those who have a supportive Congress. Getting into the who and the policies would violate the tos, but looking historically at the facts should not.

I think some people would say if you support the one thing it is impossible to do the other. Ethics are funny things, they tend to be an internal measure. People are deemed ethical if they do things on the surface that agree with the worldview of the analyst. Most people see themselves as ethical, but would likely be considered unethical to others (especially if they knew everything). We only know the public view of these people. Fortunately, it is not our job to judge them.

On the surface, the Carters appear to be nice people. Not remarkable compared to many others. Some people would likely find some of the things he did reprehensible. That is their view to have. This country was formed, in part, so people could freely criticize those in power. It seems if a forum allows praise, it is only fitting they also allow criticism. To do otherwise would be hypocrisy.

Plus 1 on the please avoid the political rhetoric. It detracts from the discussion. You will change no ones beliefs and piss the rest of off. Thank you

Moss, re job growth, if POTUS couldn’t have excellent job growth coming out of a pandemic then he should go and hide in the basement of his beach house some more…..
even a bumbling crook should be able to achieve that!
Hell, even your Mayor Pete could have done that while riding his bicycle he got on out of his SUV 3 blocks from his office could do that!

There is a LOT MORE that make a successful presidency than the two items you list!

WE THE PEOPLE do not want any more of him!

That is my point.
