USPS just raised rates too. If and when the economy recovers and prices come down do you think the parcel carriers will reduce their rates. Oh heck no!
Of course not Scooter. It's always easy to increase rates but no company ever wants to reduce them as it's 'bad business practice to give anyone a break today.

I fear that is exactly what is going to happen to the automakers actually. They have increased their new vehicle prices to the point of unsustainability and when the bottom falls out (and it will, only a matter of time) they will be left holding the bag on vehicles that are not saleable to anyone, hence bankruptcy will be the only alternative and it's not just the domestic auto builders either. The onshore 'foreign' builders are following in lockstep as well.

Lots of workers are going to be in for a rude awakening as well. When the very workers that build new cars cannot afford to buy them, that tells me something bad is gonna happen.

Besides, who in their right mind would pay close to 100 grand for a vehicle that in reality is only worth less than 1/3rd of that. Not me and no one I know of would either. I do have sympathy for the few who spent that kind of jack and are now locked into a debt spiral with a vehicle that only depreciates over time. Vehicles have to be one of the poorest investments around. Not many items can match that depreciation rate today. Maybe motorcycles or snowmobiles can, not sure actually. I do know that with snowmobiles, they depreciate to about half the retail price, once you take them off the dealers lot as I have experience with that in the past. I was young and dumb back then, I'm not now.

Doesn't seem like anything I order from walmart.com can be delivered to their nearby store, but for the most part shipping to the house is reasonably fast.

I tried to order something from WM and have it delivered to my house in town, across the street from a city park. The item was returned to the store as un-deliverable, and I got an email from the delivery driver saying that the directions took him to a park, not a house.

You got that right. The country is heading down the crapper and the media refuses to report on it in an unbiased manner. Far as I'm, concerned, professional journalism has reached new and unprecedented lows and none of them are worth listening to.\

I want fair and unbiased reporting and not opinions that I can form on my own. That don't happen today at all, so I 'tune them out' now.

That is simply basic journalism.”

Dont let the 'legend' overshadow reality about Walter.

However nice a person he may have been, Walter Cronkite was, more importantly, a model voice for liberal-progressives’ brand of socialism. His lack of understanding about the nature of the Constitution and about the founding ethos of the United States allowed him to warp the minds of millions of Americans with the historicism that characterizes liberal-progressivism. -- Thomas E. lets get back to my Amazon rant before the thread gets shut down please. I realize everyone is edgy but lets chill a bit, shall we?

If anyone needs to chill, it's me. I keep getting 6 months to live and that was seven years ago. I'm either the Eveready Bunny or I'm extremely lucky or maybe a bit of both. Who knows really and I surely don't.

Thursday is my day of reckoning with Amazon. The rest of my order is supposed to show up on Thursday. I wonder if anything will show up actually or if the stuff will be delivered to someone else instead? Crapshoot at best I'd say.

I will say that Amazon promptly refunded my money today for the item I was supposed to get but had an empty shipping envelope delivered instead with the top torn off. I hope someone enjoyed the contents as it was Doctor Teals bath and body wash for my lovely wife. I really despise thieves. Hopefully the Amazon delivery driver smells better.
