Thanks for the report, Don. Wow - 5.5 weeks of pain. Wondering how high the pain was on a scale of 1-10, and what kind of pain pills?

The few days after surgery pain level was 8 before pain pills took effect. Most of time 0-3. The more use the more swelling at night and discomfort about a 3, just enough to not let me get to sleep without pills. I do have a low tolerance for pain says my wife.
1-8 first week
1-5 weeks 2-3
0-3 weeks 4-5
I think advill will take care of any discomfort from here on out.

46 outside this AM, heading to mid 60's.

Nice and foggy outside. Looks to be an indoor day. In-laws expected late this afternoon. Now it comes out MIL had a fall and is in pain, yet they still are traveling by car with SIL to here. Then they want to go to their house another 3 hours away. SIL will then travel back to FL.

We have two places here on the property that can fully accommodate them. Yet they refuse to take advantage and are set on living elsewhere where we cannot get to them in a timely manner.

It will be really hard to keep my opinion to myself today.

Hope all have a great weekend. Be safe.

Reads like a recipe for disaster. Best of luck.
Cleanup and organization always seems to take a back seat projects and repairs. In other words, cleanup only happens when nothing more interesting is happening.
In my case major "Cleanup and organization" was usually put off to the dark winter months, being mostly an inside job.
Which reminds me, time to get my butt in gear.

Good Morning!!!! 47F @ 6:00 AM. Generally cloudy. High 59F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph.

Had the same issue with my mom's boyfriend after she passed, Mike. Offered to let him move in with me so I could keep an eye on him, but he insisted on staying on his own on the other side of the country. Then after a dementia diagnosis he changed his mind, but would have to live here a year to qualify for Medical, so that was out. Thank goodness a neighbor stepped up until we could get him into a nursing home, as there was no way I was going to move in with him. People make bad decisions, then have to deal with the negative consequences, dragging their family along in the process.

Got a start on organizing the garage yesterday by bundling up a bunch of cardboard and finding better places for some of the items that came off the shelves. More of that on tap for today.

Looks like I may have lost my first package to porch pirates. UPS delivered two packages to the drop box at the cul-de-sac, but failed to lock it. Amazon sez it's delivered, there's no sign it was, yet they have a photo of the parcels in the box. One vendor refunded the purchase, will have to notify other vendor today. Security cam up at the cul-de-sac is still out after the lightning strike, and I hate to put any more money in that system at this point. But maybe I can reconfigure some parts and get it working again.

Contacted the place I purchased a 2 ton toe jack from maybe fifteen years ago, and they no longer sell parts for it. It's got a slow leak, probably from the safety bypass, and won't hold a load up or lift as much as it should. I'll tear into it as soon as I get the lights working over the workbench again, after cleaning up more and doing some surface mining. Gonna be an inside day anyway...

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

Thanks, Don. Good to know the pain drops fairly quickly, and I assume the pain pills pretty much provide relief down to a little level?

Good morning everyone! Well, looks like winter is definitely here, and more snow to come on Monday. Not ready for it yet still have to get the batteries out of the Sea-Doos, get the pontoon boat parked in the right place, and a lot of stuff all of the rental property.

Looks like we are going to accept the offer. The guy made, but the closing won’t be till least the end of March.

I've had my Craftsman floor jack rebuilt twice, to fix small leaks. Last time, when I called him first (to be sure he was still there) he asked what color it was and if it was Made in Japan, or Made in China. Mine is Japan. He said he couldn't get parts for the China ones, and they are "welded up" and not servicable. It's still dry, thankfully. I had to have the tree guys come out and take down some trees, that were very dead and in danger of falling on the house. A ponderosa pine, a poplar and an ash. He used his skid steer to help direct them over, when cut. Pretty sweet. Now I have a big mess to clear up and a bunch more firewood.

First gun season starts today, for deer. (5 days) I need to get out and sit for awhile, this afternoon. I don't care for morning hunts anymore...

Got some wall cabinets up yesterday. After this pic was taken, I decided they were mounted too high. I took them down and remounted them 3" lower.

Morning all, 42 going up to 46 and rain.
Got a lot of branches and dead ash trees moved yesterday, still plenty more to go from back area, but can see improvements.

Sodamo, that's a lot of water and would cause us major flooding, seems to just be a bother for you :)

Don - great news on the knee!

Be well,

Good morning! Low of 24°, heading to 38°. Sunny today after 3 days of cloud cover. Total amount of snow was 6", but most melted between 'storms'. The kind of snow that I like..... pretty without the trouble.

Cardiologist appointment went very well. No changes noted. Bloodwork came back already, almost perfect. All lipids within the 'normal' range, all electrolytes good, EKG and vitals great. BUT.... I think their scale is broken.... that one reads 4 lbs heavier than the one at home.... maybe it was my clothes....

UPS keeps delivering our orders to our neighbor....all of a sudden.... I was able to stop the driver and ask what was going on?.... he showed me a "delivery note" stating that there was a shared drive for both houses... really? Even the driver said "well, I can see that there's another driveway, and it's marked with the address" .... mmmm, wonder how long this is going to take to straighten out?

The rest of the wifey's Temu order came in. She is happy with all of the items. My order finally cleared customs, so another few days at least before I get my order. I have to keep reminding myself where it is coming from.... it's easy to get used to 2 or 3 day delivery.

Wifey got an email from Amazon showing a purchase for $299 and another for a $16.99 per month subscription..... neither of which were our purchases....
This was the third (and now final) fraud on the Amazon Chase credit card. Last fraud was for a $1300 SLR camera.
She called Amazon and had the charges removed, then called Chase and cancelled the account / card. Good riddance! We both HATE Amazon anyway, was almost 2 years since buying anything from there.....

Some errands this morning, including dropping off the wifey at the hair stylist to get all 'purtyfied'...... I get to be bored.....

When I get back, going to build a bigger "address post" to be more visible to the delivery drivers..... I may put a solar light on it too! Thinking of something like this:

Not as elaborate, just a simple 4x4 and a hanging address plate.

Everyone have a great day!
