Ok thank-you. I'll look tomorrow.
Yup, that's what I was saying in post #11.They don’t build every tractor part the day before assembly. Just because the engine was built in 2019 doesn’t mean the tractor was.
beat me to it. Years ago they knew the model and they cared about the hours and condition. Now they play the year game like car dealers. Anything to beat your trade value. You can bet your bottom dollar if you trade it in a few years, they'll be saying it's a 2019 not a 2023 and can't give you as much as a '23 would be worth.
Are you sure you are using the engine serial number and not the unit PIN?Thanks for everyone's response. So for more clarity my serial number begins with KB According to Kubota Engine Serial Number ID | Kubota Engine America. K is for 2019 and B is January.
Some mowers are made in batches, I do not know if this is the case with some tractors. I purchased a new Ferris mower that identified as a couple of years older but had definitely not been used ( but then the hour meter wasn't working ). It is very frustrating as you have purchased a "new" machine and if you come to sell it on the first thing any one is going to point out is it's age. It will be interesting what the dealer has to say, but yes, go in gently, plenty of time to get waspy later as it does look fraudulent. Good luck.I bought a new L3902 in June of '23 paid full price for it. Recently while researching parts I realized the serial number indicates it's a 2019. When I got it the seat was a bit rough looking not torn or anything just weathered as we're the oil fill caps faded as well as the trans dip stick. Having just moved to Tennessee I though that it must be been a rough winter and previous summer thinking it was probably delivered the summer of 22 to the dealership. But not wanting to complain I just turned a blind eye. Well now with this revelation I feel a bit taken. I get that they are not like cars and I would've been fine with a '22 but 4 years old seems a bit much especially when I was expecting a new tractor. I want to call them and give them an earful but I don't want to but bridges either. Thoughts?
