Drainage across driveway

Not much worry of crushing drain pipe with concrete driveway . With relatively flat ground excess flow should not be a problem

Correct, however, when you look at his grades in the picture, the pipe will be very shallow, unless he digs a catch basin on the inside corner, and then a heck of a swale on the outside corner, and I will near about garrantee, he will get a crack in the concrete over the pipe. It also costs more money, and is more maintenance. Any time your dealing with less than a 1 ft grade change, a swale is going to be a better option.

I have one area on the driveway where a large field drains to the driveway ditch. Ideally it would drain down that side of the driveway and into a drainage area. But Mother Nature has decided otherwise. Half way there - it drains across and down the driveway.

SO..... many years ago I decided to "fix" this condition. Dug a large, deep drainage swale across the driveway. Filled with stone - topped with screened gravel. This worked fine for about five or six years. Then here comes an unseasonal storm. Lots of dirt, silt, debris wash down. The swale gets completely plugged.

I can see that "total correction" might mean some sort of pipe system across the driveway.

I'm just going to let Mother Nature have her way and I will correct whatever is required with my LPGS and/or rear blade.
