Honestly, you’ll have to admit that urban counties and “sanctuary cities” contain many more ‘undocumented (illegal) aliens’ which pressure social services, health services, law enforcement, etc, etc. which is mostly not a factor in rural areas.

In urban areas that pressure is on municipal and county services - not federal programs. Those are local issues and need to be solved locally. Good solutions influence voters.

The rural areas remain mostly Republican and the federal programs that benefit them also reflect that. The Republican programs have been very good to rural voters.

If you are a qualified SBA logger, you can receive a $350K USDA grant to buy a log skidder, forwarder, or loader. Many loggers cannot fund their equipment needs without these grants.

That's a good example of what I mean. There is a distinction between the various types of governments, their concerns, and their funding. A lot of the folks discussing this seem to lump them all together. That's just the result of not paying attention

I only know first hand about the area where I live. I simply do not believe the storie that news broadcasters make up about the area where you live. Newcasters have their own agenda... which seems mostly based around selling advertising.

The town closest to us doesn't need or take any federal funding. They are funded locally by bonds for town projects which are sold to residents, and by a share of property taxes. It's a typical blue collar working community. BTW, Colorado marijuana isales are allowed by the state laws. That doesn't cut it with all areas. Whether to accept marijuana sales in a community is up to the town ordinances. Some do, some don't. Ours doesn't allow any sales of any kind, but doesn't criminalize users. Seems reasonable...

English still number 1 per hospital census but Spanish, Tagalog and Chinese make for a very large percentage.

We have dozens of languages via Language Line and staff second languages but every week we run into languages not available through translation services which is a problem and a big problem if we are notified in advance due to mandated services providers are to provide.

I took German in High School and my co-worker took French and not once in 30+ years has either of our second languages been needed at work.

Spanish would have been most useful and valuable as Tagalog is well covered by nursing staff and Chinese and other Asian generally have English speaking family member with them.
