Yanmar F175D
I recently inherited a Yanmar F175D tractor in excellent condition with only 115 hours. Unfortunatley it has a blown head gasket and I'm having a real problem finding parts. I bought a parts manual on ebay but haven't received it yet. Can't find any data plates identifying what engine is in this thing. Does anyone know if this is the same engine as the F17 or FX17 model?

Your machine is a Gray Market type. The only way to get answers is in this section on TBN,

Or at the YTOG where dozens of Yanmar manuals are for free.

F175D/FX175D came with two engine models. An early model 3TN75-UNA and later model 3TN75-UNAP

Post an engine ID plate pix in this thread so I can figure this out.

The F165 has the 3TN75-UN. FX165 3TN75-UNB & later model 3TN75-UNBP. There would be a 3 to 5 percent difference of the two engines. Sometimes it's just a fuel pump shims and timing to get more or less Hp.

Yanmar also made a specialty version of the FX175 called the FX175DPT. It has the 3TN75-RNGR.

The F17 geared or FX17 PowerShift has the prior generation engine with an entirely different fuel pump and system.

If you have a generic head gasket stock sheet for a 3-cly diesel engine and a good set of cutting tools to fabricate a head gasket from, then this is another option. It would be the last option since the head gaskets have a metal perimeter on higher compression locations for proper sealing and wear protection.

At the YTOG, there is a master list of parts dealers for these Gray Market machines. The most well versed and re-builder with a Yanmar legal agreement is Fredircks.

Ha, I should of looked at my engine cross reference list. Seems the Yanmar 3TN75 head gasket is also used on it's sibling of John Deere too.

Thank you for the info. I was told that the tractor is a 2000 year which I think would be a late machine. I can't find an ID plate anywhere. I read on another site that it should be on the valve cover but don't see it.. Is that right? I think I only need a head gasket, a valve cover gasket and probably a water pump gasket. I just joined the YTOG and will investigate The dealers. YTOG is a little difficult to navigate, still figuring it out.

So I have exhaust gas percolating into the cooling system. Don't have any oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil so crossing my fingers that I don't have a crack and it's just the head gasket. Ordered a gasket set that's supposed ti fit the 3TN75U engine hoping that is the right one.

The John Deer shop manual says to torque the head bolts to 51ft. lbs. Is that right? Seems awfully low.

51Ft-LBs = 612in-lbs

Winston in the past made mention of the bolt size tells you the final torque.

Got a link of where you ordered the gasket from?

YTOG is setup like an older forum. No thrills, simple layout with simple tools. The search works great on message topics.

There are links all over the site on how to arrive at the RESOURCE PAGE. One must be logged into the system to even see the page. It's not a public page. The same goes for the other tractor sites, to get to their manual section, you have to login.

I got the YTOG site figured out and downloaded the manuals. The John Deer manual for the 3TN75 looks pretty close to what I have. I bought a full gasket set on Ebay from a Chinese vendor named autopartsmall96 for about $90.00 that's supposed to fit the 3TN75U engine. God knows what I'll actually get. I'll try to figure out how to attach a link to it. As you can probably tell, I'm internet challenged. Thanks again for all your help.
