Bill Bergey lived down the street from me in my neighborhood. He also spoke at our HS football banquets. It was really cool for him to hand you your varsity letter and shake your hand, etc.
I was watching the Browns / Texans game and turned it off as I was pulling for the Browns and knew it was a lost cause. Told my wife I'd like to catch some of the Chiefs / Dolphin's game, and she was jumping in the shower and told me to turn on football if I wanted to later last night, and couldn't find that game.I'm wondering - - when will the Superbowl be on PeeCock or some other "pay only" service. Man - I can see it coming.
He was my football hero growing up in the 70's.Bill Bergey lived down the street from me in my neighborhood. He also spoke at our HS football banquets.
I remember the first time I met him, I was a little guy and he drove a big luxury car. I was at a small convenience store on my bike. He got out and there he stood. A giant of a man to me at the time. I was probably 7-8 years old. He walked around to the back of his car, popped the truck, took out a poster of himself and signed it right there.
A real nice man and a great representative of my area.
There is a name I hadn't heard for a long time... I didn't even realize he had died last year.Frank LeMaster
All depends on Monday night. There is a name I hadn't heard for a long time... I didn't even realize he had died last year.
Amazing what a good coach can do with a football team...
I'm curious exactly how long Sirianni is going to be around? I get the fact that the guy is emotional (no more than Vermeil was) but the guy really does come across as a butthole (Sirianni).
Like it or not, the Saints were playing by the rules. If some don't like the rule then they should change it. I know of no rule that says the losing coach should come shake hands with the winning coach but when the losing coach just comes over and curses out the winning coach it is just bad sportsmanship. The Atlanta coach was just upset because he knew he was going to be fired that night due to his bad record. Atlanta and the Saints have been vicious rivals for years and had many conflicts over the years and many dirty plays between them. It is easy to understand why some Saints players would want to do more to frustrate the Falcons. And here I thought the Eagles were the "Dirty Birds" LOL
I fairness to the saints coach, the last play was not his choice and by all accounts from what I've read, it was the team and Jamie Winston that allowed the play to be run as the coaches instructions were to take a knee.
Funny, now it's kind of a internet war on behalf of Jamie Winston, defending his actions. Anyway you cut it, IMO the QB leads the team, and for Winston to do that tells me what I assumed about him anyway.
You can defend the saints anyway you want, but there is a difference between kicking a field a field goal with over 5 minutes left in the game making it 34-0 vs running a play when you're up by over 20 points and can run the clock out to end the game.
