What teams will play in the next Superbowl?

And "my" team. The Seahawks. After whatever happened between Wilson and management - this team looks like a large flag - flailing in the wind. Like a large supertanker - in reverse with no rudder.

This would NOT have been a great year to spend extra money on some special sports network.
All the Seahawks need to do is schedule 18 games a year with the Eagles and everything will be fine

After Sunday's game, I'm pretty sure the Cowboys won't be there.
I can't watch the Philly game due to my location, but all year philly has gotten lucky and pulled out close games. Going into the end of the season, Philly at 11-4 vs a 3-12 Cardinals team per stats. Tied game (21-21) with 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter with Philly leading at the half 21-6.

See team stats below...

philly.png

When you're 11-4 with 2 games left in the season, I kind of see everything with Philly.

Their luck is running out, and the reality is even though they lucked out 3/4's of the season, they really were not that good to begin with.

Yeah, philly may squeek out a win vs the cardinals, and they may squeek out a win against the Giants next week, but the reality is I don't think any team thinks "oh crap, we're playing philly" in the playoffs.

Reality is philly's defense SUCKS. That said, still an eagles fan, just seeing the reality of the situation.

Personally if philly falls flat, like to see the Browns win everything as next year with Watson back, that dumpster fire will glow the entire US for football fans.

They are at best, a wild card team. Their defense has slid into oblivion. Today’s loss is a wake up call.

I know this is long gone history, but I am still scorned that they didn’t keep Dougie & Nick around a few more years into at least 2021. Those 2 knew how to win. They mishandled the “Ginger Jesus” and his career is ruined.
The fact that the cowgirls won the way they did last night just makes it an even crazier season.

As a lifelong Browns fan, if they don't do something this year with Flacco, it might be awhile. The Watson trade will go down in history as the worst in sports history.
With many injuries this year and still being 11-5 maybe they're a team of destiny. Feels like the Kardiac Kids and the Bernie Kosar years. More likely just more disappointment just like the last 55+ years of being a Browns fan. I was only 4 yrs old when the Browns last won a championship. I am 63 now.

When my cousin came from Jersey to see my son shipping off right before thanksgiving, we were talking about the Eagles (she's a big eagles fan). She said if anything happens to the Eagles this year, she's rooting for the Browns.

I didn't know this, but Flacco is from Jersey and his family were neighbors of theirs, and she watched him play football while he was growning up. So... whoever Flacco plays for in the NFL, as long as it's not against the Eagles, that's who she roots for.

Also have become friends with a retired couple who go to our church who moved down from Ohio earlier this year. He's a big browns fan. He has the same opinion as you.

On a side note, it seems as if David Tepper has filled in well for Daniel Snyder as having the most dysfunctional NFL team playing right now. It's not often you read up on a billionair NFL owner thowing a drink at a fan :ROFLMAO: Just goes to show, no matter how much money you have, you can't buy happiness. Things could be worse for me, I could be a panthers fan living in NC.

Browns vs Lions would make a great Super Bowl. Two teams that have never been there. Who'd have thunk it.
Wouldn't bet on it though.

49’ers Ravens is my guess right now.
Don’t sleep on the ravens.

Bills appeared to have righted the ship

If I was a betting man, I'd go along with Hey Dudes pick right now. At least it should be a interesting playoffs in both conferences.

Brown's fans need to start feeling sorry for the Panthers fan's. I hate to admit this, but the program is so sad in NC that it's actually funny. Saw it coming a mile a way when the new owner made changes when he first bought the team and made decisions on the people.

It helps somewhat to ease the pain of the Eagles falling apart down the homestretch. Sometimes I think fans forget about some of their teams pasts (eagles in the mid 1970's for example). Still remember watching the miracle at the meadowlands live on TV.

We've never been to a Super Bowl(Panthers went to 2) and the Browns went 1-31 in '16 and '17. 2 playoff appearances since they came back in '99. Feel sorry, I don't think so.

So to win in the NFL is to win a superbowl? Or, if you make it to the superbowl and lose, is that still a "win"

What does BILL'S stand for? Boy I Love Losing Super Bowls.

The reality is IMO per skill set, all the NFL teams are equal. The difference IMO (and I could be wrong) is the management and coaching.

The only reason why the bowns couldn't or wouldn't feel sorry for the Panthers IMO is their "management" is more screwed up than that Panthers.

Like I said, I'm not a Panthers fan, I have no dog in that fight, but I'm rooting for the Browns.

Lions got cheated big time on that Tackle eligible penalty. The ref screwed up and announced the wrong player nullifying the 2 point.
Eagles have picked the wrong time to play like they are right now.
KC played better than I thought they would against the Bengals.
Bengals offensive line fell apart at the end of the game against KC.

I do think Jordan Love is pretty good!

I don’t know if the Eagles are playing bad more than actually just struggling with having a terrible defense.

That goes to the culture of the team. It is amazing to me that teams will maintain that culture across GM and HC changes. Who are the Bears every year? Essentially, a run-first offense and a LB focused defense. Good QBs go there to die. GB is a QB first, draft and develop team. When they manage to have a good RB and/or a good D they do well. Maybe part of their patience is that they don't have an owner, per se.
The Bills have usually been defense-run game first. Their most successful seasons came when they had a QB to pair with it.

I lived in Ohio during that period. Always seem to be a heartbreak. I quit following the Browns when they moved to Baltimore in the middle of the night.

Edit: Just as well. That was the same year I moved back to Texas--1995.

Look at the Philadelphia Eagles from 2015-2017 and 2020-2022
In both of those short periods of time, they went from bad, losing records to winning a Superbowl and losing a close game Superbowl.

It is team culture, but also the owner & recruiting is a huge

In pre-season, I predicted the Saints would win the NFC South but they wound up tied with Bucs and even tied in the first tie-breaker but lost in the 2nd tiebreaker because they lost one more game against Conference teams and that game was against Green Bay when they were leading 17-0 in the 3rd quarter when their quarterback was injured and put out the game causing them to lose 17-18. Many times it only takes one point to make or break a season and the Saints scored more points than all but 2 teams in the NFC. I wish that high points had been the second tie-breaker.

When the Saints made their last touchdown over the Dirty Birds Sunday, the Falcons Coach cursed out the Saints coach for running up the score by beating them by 31 points but we had no complaints from the Patriots earlier in the season when they beat them by 34-0. Any coach that behaves like that in a game doesn't deserve to be a coach.

And here I thought the Eagles were the "Dirty Birds" LOL

I fairness to the saints coach, the last play was not his choice and by all accounts from what I've read, it was the team and Jamie Winston that allowed the play to be run as the coaches instructions were to take a knee.

Funny, now it's kind of a internet war on behalf of Jamie Winston, defending his actions. Anyway you cut it, IMO the QB leads the team, and for Winston to do that tells me what I assumed about him anyway.

You can defend the saints anyway you want, but there is a difference between kicking a field a field goal with over 5 minutes left in the game making it 34-0 vs running a play when you're up by over 20 points and can run the clock out to end the game.

All that said, Author Blanc never impressed me as a owner (not that he has to) per his hiring of Bobby Petrino, and he got what he deserved by hiring him.
