No sure if is this a RR or a boat post... Photo taken April 7th 1941 at Marquette MI upper harbor ore dock. World War 2 was raging, and iron ore for steel was a priority. I had never seen three boats like this at the dock. Pretty cool even with the trees getting in the way!

​ Union Pacific Steam Club Update No. 31 - Jan. 26, 2024 ​ ​ ​ Ten Years Ago, Big Boy No. 4014 Returned to theRails! ​ In the early morning hours of Sunday, January 26, 2014,BigBoy No. 4014 returned to the rails, departing the Los Angeles CountyFairgrounds to return to Cheyenne, Wyoming. (Watch the historic moment!) No. 4014's return to the rails followed months ofpreparation by the Steam Crew preparing the previously retiredlocomotive to move again after spending over five decades on staticdisplay at the RailGiants Train Museum in Pomona, California. UnionPacific reacquired Big Boy No. 4014 in 2013 to restore it forcommemoration of the 150th anniversary of the transcontinentalrailroad's completion in May 2019. Since 2019, Big Boy No. 4014 has toured much of the UnionPacific network. Our team is still finalizing the 2024schedule, reviewing all the nitty gritty details from the trackcurvature and elevation for the routes to the dates for a boiler wash.We know Steam Club members are anxious to see the schedule, and oncedetails are ironed out, we will share the information. The all-rail ore trains to Louisiana (Convent Marine Terminal) have ceased as the contract was filled, however, a new all-rail move using B&LE hoppers has started from Minntac to Gary Works. Apparently the float side couldn't get enough ore to Gary during the shipping season, so CN is running a number of these trains (I believe they are U768). There is one 90-car train loading at Minntac this afternoon but will be out after dark. This image is from 2021 when the cars were used in a similar all-rail move (Steelton Hill).

Another view from yesterday morning as a triple T set waits to head north with empties. I liked how the lights of a train in the distance illuminated the pellet steam. Proctor, MN - February 1, 2024

Looks like a turntable underneath, and a crane on the rear.
