My doctor of 30ish years retired a couple years ago, but he's only 2-3 years older than me. New doc is in his 40s.

Work mornings I'm in the Surgery Lobby area about 4:30 am where doors officially open at 5:30 am.

Most mornings I turn on the waiting area flat screen with assorted music videos on You Tube.

The patients really enjoy it... my co worker can't stand it... but the tv and music comes direct from admin...

Everything from Glenn Miller, Al Marino Archie's, Barry White, Gi Gi De Lana, Salina to Shaggy It wasn't me...

Lots of compliments...

I really don't know any of those. However, after listening to the same songs over, and over, and OVER again for the last 40+ years I likely would appreciate the change of venue. It's hard to believe that rhe Rolling Stones, Bob Seger, The Eagles and other popular bands only recorded 6 songs each in the last 50 years, yet that's all we seem to hear on the radio.
Then Sirius pared those down to 3 songs each when I was a subscriber...

We are multi specialty when it comes to Surgery...

Wednesday and Thursday we do a lot of eye cases and not unusual to have patients ranging from mid 60's to 90+ old... the most seasoned citizens really enjoy hearing/seeing a Big Band like Glenn Miller or a Al Martino... often it's the spouse in the waiting room watching.

Our Sports Ortho day tends to be younger and I have different sets on these days.

Many patients speak Spanish and just as many it seems speak Tagalog followed by Chinese, Farsi and a dozen others in the daily roster...

Had a lady 65 years here but I detected a slight German accent... she was 11 when she came here and she was genuinely surprised I picked up on it.

I'd say the most surprised is our Filipino seniors when they hear a familiar song...

I know I'm old when my patients are becoming younger than me and the Doctors look like kids...

My grandmother was 14 when she immigrated, but she always had an accent and especially trouble pronouncing her "r"s. She also didn't have much good to say about people who came over but couldn't be bothered to learn the language... something I've since noticed about other people from that country.

She was 71 when she passed away in 1974, but it was only about 20 years ago that we found out that a family friend had helped her get onto a boat to come live with her aunt, to escape an arranged marriage.
