good morning all
32 outside, 51 in greenhouse with setting on low. I don't think these tanks are going to last very long.
weather coming in is very cold
my goal is to keep it above 45 in there and hope that on sunny days Mother Nature will help out.

Ken, I hope we don't get that much, that might tax my latest project. Might have to go up to notch two
tonight. That full tank already feels much lighter after one day. I bet there's only 48 hours in a 30 pounder, less on full.
I suppose I should research a larger tank

going to drop off a set of those grab handles with suction cups you use in the shower for a friend later today.
I have found they work remarkably well, are reliable but you always test first. Every three or four months they pop off, vacuum breaks
I guess. This is for my friend with his two new knees. Will give him more to grab onto in shower. Not a good time at all to fall.
Hopefully he has a seat in there. I'll take him some apples too. I bought the big bag of assorted apples last time, more than I can eat.
They make great house presents. All apples are showing their age now, they've been sitting in that cooler a long time.
local ones still good, but you can tell the skins are getting tougher

Hope you all have a great Monday
Wagtail, 102 is just plain hot. How about sharing some of that heat?

Good Morning.
It’s 32° with a high of 50 forecast under partly cloudy skies.

Yesterday was mostly spent on the mower. I found enough bearings to get two spindles rebuilt with the parts stash that came with the mower. Plenty of other parts, like LH nuts and shims, but only 4 bearings.
Like so many things I did it nice, because I did it twice. I had to press one apart because I put it in the housing upside down, the other one because I left a spacer out of it.

I attacked the deck with the needle scaler, but that was about as far as I got. I’ll get back on it today, but I made a huge mess digging through the tubs of parts. They were not organized in any way, just thrown into tubs. I should be thankful that they cleared their shelves and gave me all of it, rather than complain though.

Managed to make it out to lunch and make a HF run. Went to a Bojangles chicken place with a friend that wanted to go there. I won’t be going back…….

Today will start with going out to breakfast with my wife, then back to clean up the mess I made, and then get to welding the patches on the mower deck after I cut out a couple more pieces.

Someone from Facebook Marketplace is supposed to come over this afternoon and pick up the trampoline. Fingers crossed they don't flake out.
Hope that works out. Some things of value are difficult to give away.

I gave away a nice acrylic portable spa. It took forever. I finally had to trailer it to someone in order to get rid of it.

26F going to sunny 50F in Beautiful Northern Nevada. Another foot of snow expected at Donner Summit on Wed/Thu which is good for the snowpack.

Most of my pictures are from trail cams at our CA property. This red tail hawk was from here in Nevada ...

Wonder who’s plane this is?
Not 100% sure because the registration number is not visible in the pix.

But, based on its distinctive paint, I think it is aircraft VP-BLK based in Guangzhou Baiyun in China. If that is correct, here is a pix of the same plane at its home airport.

Good morning !

For beginning - something between freezing rain and thaw. Roads become really dangerous

Anyway yesterday made "rancho run". Was rather productive morning at forest but then everything went south. Saw had issues on lows. It is so annoying. :mad: At the end starter rope snapped
Find in barn "vintage" Husqvarna. That has power issues. Last running saw was small Echo, with so short bar that doesn't cut trough. Few of logs had to break with crane
Probably that's clear message - no work on Sunday ;)

Saturday helped kids to build stage decorations for their school party. Boys from daughter's class were looking on me like superman - man have plan, have tools, result are within +/- 1 mm. Showed them some carpenter tricks. Really productive afternoon. Felt that daughter was proud, too. For recent years she didnt talk too much to me, I was kinda old grumpy man, which doesn't understand nothing. Now that teenage madness is starting to vanish.

For both days lot of gym - on the knees, stand up, lifting etc. Now have sore muscles. But it's not a bad thing, no pain no gain, yeah ?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today should arrive new guy from supplier's HQ. Will visit few customers with him. market is not so active, let's see
That's interesting topic.
Protests are different from country to country. Actually very minor part of farmers are protesting.
For beginning you have to know that most of farming in EU is super low efficient.
Properties are rather small, it's from history. Farms were split between heirs, wars, etc. I believe entire Netherlands or Belgium is smaller than biggest farms of NA 😁
Then south-EU countries are subsiding farming, considering as it is "lifestyle". North (including us) is subsiding farmers too, to be competitive with southerners. And so it goes
Now govts are short on money, they are planning to subsiding less.
Ours are fine with this, while rules are fair. But they are not... Protest ...
In addition in market comes in lot of products from Ukraine. There they still have huge farms, can be very efficient. AFAIK lot of US farmers are operating there. Successfully and efficient. Obviously German or French farmer's "100 cow farm" can't compete with those monsters. Protest ...
And French are good at protests, they know how to make them look attractive. I mean, govt have learned that it's cheaper to let them blow off some steam rather than suppress and deal with even worse consequences
Another area of protest particularly in Denmark is that the gov has established aggressive goals for carbon emissions and pesticides that will impact the ag business. Farmers are saying it will force them out of business and result in imports from countries not subject to similar laws
Good Morning!!!! 41F @ 5:45, still in Orcutt, CA. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 63F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Managed to get the trailer mostly unloaded yesterday, leaving only the stacks of cardboard I'd brought down for recycling. Only banged my head on the trailer door once yesterday. Thinking I should start wearing a helmet.
Most of the stuff I unloaded stayed in the boxes they were packed in, but I learned that the small moving boxes are about 3/4" too long to fit inside the cabinets. So I'll head to Costco today to see if I can find some plastic bins that will let the cabinet doors close. I did get several boxes of cleaning supplies unpacked and put away, more of that for today as well.
The person that was supposed to pick up the trampoline flaked out yesterday, next guy on the list says he'll come over this morning. We'll see.
Hope everyone's week gets started on the right foot...
Wow! What an interesting first glance at the GM thread! Wagtail is roasting at over 100F and Helo is still shivering in freezing rain and Plowhog is at 26F. The rest of us are glad the SB is over and Butkicker really did that by drilling a 57 yarder in the third quarter. (I read that this morning. I did not watch the game.)
I'm already on my second cup of coffee this morning at 41F and sunny at almost 8am.
M7040, your pictures of Ukraine children kidnapped by Russia reminded me of all the Israeli children taken hostage and murdered by H****s. Many have not been returned to their parents. Maybe I will post some pictures of those atrocities later.
Looking forward to a very productive day today and I hope everyone has a great day!
