You Know You Are Old When

I remember as a young lad in the early 70's how it seemed that every other boy was related to Daniel Boone.

Family trees are long and winding webs, and most of ours have crossed at one point. Heck, half of us believe we're all direct descendants of Noah... right?

If you have the good fortune to be able to trace yours back more than a few generations, you're going to find some famous folks.

Haven't had cable or the ability to view channels for 35 yrs. When I stay in a hotel and turn on the trick box I understand why.

Same here. Used to carry a good book or two for those times I had to stay in a motel because I can't stand the drivel they put on TV these days. Now I carry a Kindle with 100+ different books on it so I can always find something interesting to read. Bonus is that I can use the Kindle while camping (which I do a lot of). Hard to read a book while camping because a light attracts every bug within 5 miles. The Kindle can be set to "dark" mode which doesn't attract bugs.

I remember when Amazon first started in 1995. Selling books online and mailing to you. Thought that wasn’t really a sustainable business.

Every year we have to go through "Sensitivity Training" at work. One example of respecting somebody's religion told of a woman who belonged to some church of body piercings,which allegedly required her to wear them at all times.

While I believe that is her right... I also believe that it's my right to patronize a different establishment.

I don't miss the corporate PC classes, i used to get into so much trouble in those sessions. Way too much fun to get the HR folks into a frenzy asking "hypothetical" questions.
