Hope you feel better soon, Dennis. Not the best way to end a vacation.

At least it was after I got home. When we went to Yellowstone one year I got a tooth infection while there and had to go to their medical clinic. Still coughing and aching all over.
No more chicken noodle soup, so had to settle on tomato.

An Hawaii story, on the big island we went to luau on the west side. As we were driving out to return to the east side afterwards all the the warning lights on the car dash came on an and the car went into low mode. I pulled over and restarted the car, they were all still on, but the car seemed to run ok, so I kept driving.
Since we had to cross over the middle of the island, after dark, and nothing much on that road, we texted David, told him what was going on with the car, and said if we don’t text back in a couple hours we are stuck somewhere on the mountain. I wasn’t sure we would even have cell service out there. Anyways we made it. Not sure what would have happened had the car stopped on us.
The next morning I started the car and only the check engine light came on. I tried calling the rental emergency number, and got transferred and transferred and put on hold. While on hold I restarted the car again and all was normal, so I hung up and the car was ok for the rest of the trip.

44.4F, wet, and cloudy @ 15:00, calling for a high of 46F today ... not sure we'll make that.

Woman dropped Her car off at the local repair shop yesterday then went grocery shopping at Wally World and a couple other places with the neighbor.

Left front tire was thumping, appears that it may have a broken cord/belt. Waiting to hear back from Discount Tire on how long it will take them to get the set of tires in that we are going to replace them with. (Should be in in 3 - 5 days)

Told her before She took it in I thought it might be the tire ... She got the call this morning... and was in pain while having to convey that it turned out I was right ...

Tires are less than 4 years old and only have around 1/2 the mileage the warranty supposedly covers, and still have around 5 - 6 32nds left on them but I noticed when I had it out recently it was skidding when I went to stop (wet roads)

The current tires are Generals, going to replace them with a set of Falkens and see if we have better luck. The Falkans supposedly have a little better wet road performance.

Went down to change out the saddle valve on the water line for the ice maker the other night - no joy ...

Valve was frozen and couldn't be turned to shut it off. Ordered a new one from the Depot, Woman picked it up yesterday ... so that will be on the menu for later.

Saddle Valves are terrible. I would suggest cutting it out, putting in a tee and a ball valve to the icemaker.

I will be definitely be plowing in the morning. I didn't get the rear work light on, but I have all the parts I need to do the deed EXCEPT for the temperature.

If I have a choice between getting sick on a holiday or getting sick at home. HOME will always win.

Saddle Valves are terrible. I would suggest cutting it out, putting in a tee and a ball valve to the icemaker.

Yup … that will get done as part of the kitchen remodel and will include a recessed box in the wall to hold the plumbing line and valve … rather than just having the copper line come up through a hole that was drilled in the laminate floor …

In the meantime, the saddle valve - which was less than $10 at the Depot - is installed and the water to the old ‘frig is shutoff …
