Good morning !

Little bit chill (around freezing) but SUNNY morning ! Finally we see sun !

Yesterday was rainy. Somehow my head was a bit dull. In the morning was a running around but then after launch had a good nap. Was afraid will be not able to sleep at night, but no, slept well. probably that raining weather was pressing down.

Yesterday afternoon oldest daughter came to see us. She is doing great at school. Seems like that medical uni has found a common grounds with technical uni.

Somehow I have noticed that in November in Germany, Dusseldorf is big fair for medical equipment and materials. From Riga to Dus is direct flight, offered her to buy tickets. She was so happy.
Good to see she have drive for that thing. Still have no idea where she will land, but I am confident - engineer of medical equipment will not live on welfare coupons 😁
Seems like our Airbaltic have not noticed there is that show, so tickets was rather cheap (two ways 170 €). But Dusseldorf hotel owners are fully aware. No problem to find a hotel in some smaller villages nearby. Germans have very good tram and train services

No big plans for today.
Clean furnace.
Load empty firewood totes on trailer.
That should be enough for Sunday

Have to take dog for longer walk while weather is so good

That's about it, have fun !

good morning all
yesterday took its toll on me, woke up with a headache, neck ache and back ache.
headache will likely go away with a couple cups of coffee. Shoveling snow catches up with you though I did
need the exercise.

finally at 7pm my greenhouse thermometer showed up. yeah, now no worries about the tank running out.
I had one of these in NC; there the issue was making sure it didn't get too hot and cook the plants.
At 17 degrees out now, the sensor at five feet up is quite a bit warmer than the one at two feet off the ground.
heat sure rises, and goes right out this uninsulated plastic bag. But....it seems to be working.

Today I build the second set of shelves for the greenhouse and then start to repot a lot of small seedlings.
Will put some nice music on and enjoy myself.

pretty awful gas explosion in VA, nice home, firemen there investigating smell of propane, 500 gallon underground tank, whole
house blows up, killing one fireman and injuring a lot of others. House is in sticks. Scary stuff.
I could deal with stuff on fire as a fireman, but stuff that blows up? very scary, you can't get far enough away

so no lice stream.
that surely is a very good thing! ;)

good morning,
22 going to 43 very cold walk with Cody
Ice is building up in driveway now 2 inches thick

Yesterday was a slow day after snow clean up but managed to get the 8 inch boots greased.
Had saddle soaped them earlier with hot water and they were dry. Used a toothbrush to apply boot grease and heat gun to make the leather soak it up. Will oil the leather laces and then they will be good to go for a while
Will do the 4 and 6 inch boots later

Paying to do a resume was never anything I would consider but looking over a professional expert prepared one has made me change my mind. It is shorter, concise, catchy and like she pointed out meant to when being reviewed among others to be the one that will be sorted into "that was interesting I need to talk to that person"

There are reports of CSST stainless Gas pipe failures in some cases due to lightning strikes. Laws are being considered to ban it. Mine is black iron pipe so should be safe

Ate a bowl of soup for lunch, then my stomach has been hurting since. I felt great taking amoxicillin, this new one is tearing me up. 1 a day for next 4 days. Azithromycin.
Sorry you're still feeling so bad. I forget what you said your diagnosis is, but sounds like a virus to me (warning, I am not Dr. Wingspread), so antibiotics like azithromycin may not be helping. But at least sounds like you're losing some weight. 😁

Everybody sounds so busy.
Quit it, you're making me feel lazy (ier).
Around 25F and might break the freezing point. Might!
What I hate is the wind. Steady for the last couple days.
I managed to damage my right eardrum a few years back. While the hearing is OK certain tones and the WIND still bother me. Haven't gone out much the last couple days.
Oh well!
Joys of being retired enjoying the golden years.
Chin up, pip,pip and all that, everybody have a GREAT DAY.(y)

Had a nice walkabout at dawn, with an invigorating-feeling 21F calm morning. Super quiet until a med helicopter flew over on the way up north. So much nicer out than yesterday's harsh wind.

Had a nice visit with my sweet wife during the day...she brough home a vegetable calzone to split for lunch. We washed and dried and folded clothes together. Then she headed back to her mom's and I made my standard salad for dinner. Was a good day.

Good Morning
20° out there this morning under a bright sun. High of 38 forecast.

Yesterday started with breakfast with wife and son. She decided not to go to the Farmers Market because of the snow, so she came with me.
Snow cleanup went well, got daughter shoveled out, hangar really didn’t need anything, they got close enough when they plowed that the sun took care of it. It’s nice to have a south facing hangar.

Here’s Zoe bird watching, and a picture later in the day of some of our visitors.

Not much planned for today, maybe put a trail camera to catch the parade on a narrow path between the pastures and the pond.

Good morning! 30˚F North wind, clear skies, no frost, heading to the mid 50s.
With the wind becoming southerly this evening we will see a warming trend with temps hitting 80˚ by Thursday. This week will be potato planting week.
Wife talk herself out of ukulele class since she would have started a month late, the new class started in January.
Weather for the rest of February looks to be unremarkable with no rain and no freezes.

20°
Woke up soaked in sweat. Been sleeping with flannel shirt and sweatpants, since I’m in and out of bed, downstairs, back upstairs all night. Woke up shirt was soaked. Took it off and used blankets. Woke up and they were soaked.
Totally different body reaction from night before. No fever last night. No feeling sick in stomach. Got a little sleep before midnight, then was awake till 3 or 4am.
Was hungry, so came down and ate some potato chips around 1am, they were really salty.
Son came down with a cold. Wife is starting to get one now.
Hungry.

Good morning, the low is 21 and going to a high of 28°F. Wind WSW 6 mph. Light snow.

Snow started yesterday evening, still snowing, gonna snow all day. We've got about 8-10" so far, judging by what is on the railing on the porch. They forecast 2-4". Block heater is turned on and will go out and plow everybody else in sorta daylight, then do this place.

Monday I will call the dealer and talk to the mechanic, tell him that when low speed goes out of the heater fan to save himself some trouble, look at/change the relays FIRST. Him and me exchange info back and forth.

As for exotic foods I have eaten, alligator is NOT one of them. Had duck a l'orange in St. Augustine FL, once. I prefer duck and hold the orange. Muskrat doesn't sound appetizing to me. Any animal that eats grass should be safe for human consumption. After all, cows eat grass and we eat cows.

Got up this morning and still have the runs, so I took two immodium pills (anti runs pills). Note to self, get more, am down to my last 4. I keep a full box with me when I am trucking. The very last thing you need is the runs when trucking. I got caught by the cops (O.P.P.) on the side of the road many years ago dumping all over the walking beam of my highway tractor. He was understanding about the situation, he asked me what I ate and where. I told him and also told him that I would NEVER eat there again. 25 years later and I still don't eat there. If any of you guys get to Sioux Lookout, ON do yourself a favour and avoid the chicken palace. Subway up there makes a pretty good sub and of course there is always Tim Hortons.

My book came in, Conspiracy of Brothers by Mick Low. Pretty good read, especially since it all went down in Port Hope, ON.

Time to get off this thing and get on with my day.

time to plant the potatoes is always an interesting topic
in NC it was March 1; I remember you being about three weeks ahead there.
up here, probably mid april at least, ground has to warm up

got a flat of zinnias and marigolds up potted, will put them in greenhouse tomorrow.
this afternoon will work on those pink impatiens in the back, they are bursting out of tray.
planted too many I'm sure but some of these seeds are remarkably small.
when I repot I will break them apart and spread them out.

80 degrees Don, your Spring flowers should be jumping up.
when do the bluebonnets come in, summer?

Sounds about like my day and plans except for the NASCAR. I used to really enjoy NASCAR racing but probably 10 years ago I started to loss interest in it. It seems to me that it has lost it's roots and fun. I still watch some racing especially dirt ovals which have always been my favorite, maybe because that was one of my major vices in my younger days.

Newbury, there is an old saying, often on garden plaques that one is nearest God's heart
when working in the garden.
I think you have to be nurturing to do this, so that can always use higher guidance.
good thing to do on a quiet very cold Sunday morning.

bright sun out shining on snow, what a glare
came home from eye doctor's Friday with eyes dilated.
whooeee, now that was bright. I looked in mirror, eyes were wide open
and letting it all in. Add the snow glare to that I can see why skiers wear large shaded glasses.

58º going to 68º today. Not a foggy morning for a change. Old friend and I will meet at the RC club and fly a little. Just the smaller electric models. I'm restarting as I took 2 yrs off to fix my eyes and ditch some of my workload so I have time and energy to pursue the hobby again. Should be an enjoyable morning. Later more work on the golf cart rehab. I finally got the roof on and cargo box installed. Installing new seats now. Will post a pic when its complete. Have a great Sunday!
