Back to cleaning out old fence rows, it's boring but it pays good. Fertilized cow pastures and 1 hay field this week and if you look on the picture of the roof top you can see we had a frost here in North Florida this morning but Easter is coming and that will be the end of the frost, hope everyone is having a good week. I want to move to FL and live a simpler life.

Northeast is storied in history and all my family & business is here, but so are high taxes freezing cold weather and dying businesses & ways of life.

My wife can get her pension very early because she started working when she was 21. We have friends who just moved to Safety Harbor and after visiting them there, she says she loves it and wants to move there.

Florida feels so free, warm & friendly when we are there. Feels like America 50 years ago. I bet the farming almost year round is pretty sweet.

There are still some very rural sections of Florida , mostly North and West the further South you go the more it's like a foreign country, depends on what you want. Do you plan on getting a parcel of land with some acreage? So you can continue a scaled back version of farming, or do you plan on fully retiring and mostly becoming a beachcomber?

not sure. I‘m quite a ways from retirement. Might just buy a vacation home there.

I like the west coast but I’d never live there with the left political views. I’d move to Florida. I think it’s neat there and not loosing most of the winter to outside work would be nice.

My wife loving Florida is a big first step.
She wants to switch to 2 smaller homes. One in FL and another in PA or S. Utah.

I have been all over the country doing power restoration before I retired and one thing I can say with 100% certainty is that if I lived within 10 miles or so of the coast where it was coming in at, I would get out and find somewhere else to go, that could be the good part about Hay dudes 2 house plan. After Hurricane Andrew hit South Florida in 1992 there was a period up until 2004 that hurricanes were not as prevalent here in Florida but in 2004 we got hammered back to back with hurricanes Charlie, Jeanne, Frances and another one that I can't remember the name, but it's like anywhere that you live there are positives and negatives, some places have lots of tornado's, other's flood or you get snowed in, truth be known if air conditioning had never been invented Florida wouldn't be popular at all :D .

I went thru all of those. Ivan was the fourth one. Charlie came through P. Charlotte. The hospital where I worked was evacuated of all patients. Lost all the fourth floor roof.

Hence why homeowners insurance in Florida is hard to obtain and not exactly cheap.

But - it’s offset by no state income tax.

That is why (imo) Florida has lots of wealthy folks and why real estate prices are quite steep.
