Atleast they don't need to worry about the hitch rusting into the receiver :ROFLMAO:

Ok, you guys can decide whether you like this or not. At least it was a unique solution to a problem.

Ok, so I saw what appeared to be a mobile home frame heading down the freeway, at least 75 miles or so. Either I passed it, or it passed me, or one of us stopped for gas or at a rest area.

Anyway, I got to the auction yard, and was surprised to see the empty frame skeleton at the yard.

Then once I got loaded and was tying down, I saw this.

They were still tying down, so probably a couple more straps. It appears as if it was 4x4's across the frame and under the conex box.

40 footer, so about 8,000 lbs empty tare.

The trailer was something like a 30 foot mobile home frame, so it got the wheels at about the 2/3 point.

Now, I have actually towed a conex box with my little smaller pickup. But, so far I've only towed 30 to 40 foot aluminum boxes, so somewhat lighter than the steel box.

I went with a little different solution, making a dolly that I could pull in transport mode, then disassemble, and assemble under the box. It looks like this photo was before tying down. The tongue is chained and strapped to the box. Straps over the box. Chain through the holes. The dolly is bolted to the box, and strapped too. Plus a light bar that can be put onto the back of it all, and enough wire to connect the brakes too.

I put removable fender covers on it in transport mode, and remove them before attaching the conex box.

I seem to have misplaced photos loaded with the pickup.
