That is an under statement and the Green JD edition is even more. I can see why most of them wind up mowing non residential properties like fairgrounds and cityscapes because they get paid for with tax dollars whereas in a private setting, you get to pay for it. When it comes to tax dollars spent, there is little to no responsibility so why not spend the big bucks, after all, it wasn't their's in the first place.Newer ones are ridiculously expensive.
Why most of us have to buy a used machine. Myself, I could never justify buying a new machine, just not in the cards for me. I was tickled to get the 2880. You cannot find them around here used and when they do appear, they vanish as quickly as they appear. In fact, I knew this one that I bought was being let go of because I knew the fair board was replacing it with a new machine and as it was, I still had to wait over 2 months to get it. It's in nice shape with 1800 hours on it and it needed some replacement parts anyway. It found a home here and it's not going anywhere, ever again.
