Good morning!!!!

Let me throw some gas prices at ya'all.....

Reg (at Costco) $3.06
Prem " $3.69
Diesel $3.24
$6.57/US Gallon for OTR diesel here
$6.72/US Gallon for regular

But this is Canada, where we get 'it' in the rear even though we have lots of oil in the ground.

The Dodge got home about 5:30 P.M. with yet another new caliper. I guess one of the offending calipers had bad seals and was leaking. No charge.
I got under the tractor with it up on the stabilizers for the BH and didn't find anything amiss. Gave it a grease job while I was at it and a wash.
I guess tomorrow will be the first grass cutting of the season.
Black flies were bad when the car got delivered.

Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low of 3.0C and it's presently 17.9C, clear & calm.

Yesterday's 'puttering' went so well that I plan on doing it again. (practice makes perfect)

I do have to 'queue up' a couple of neighbours to confirm that they want their paddocks limed, then I can call to book a contractor. We need to 'club together' over here on the East coast to make the cost of doing small acreages reasonable as there's nobody local who does it.

That's about it, take care all.

back from oncologist, he is sure my cancer has not returned but he ordered another CT scan anyway.
thinks the GI bug from two weeks ago may have set off my Menieres and brought on vertigo.
hopefully will feel better tomorrow.
thanks for the good wishes.
I hate talking about disease, rather talk about tractors...
Yes, good news, now get better and be able to tell about the history of your childhood land. :)
And talk about tractors...or maybe soon your new green house, when you can figure out what you want.

Absolutely! Sausage, chicken, ribs and pork is a whole ‘nother BBQ discussion.
Yes sir!
It will be soon.
Hope. I think I might go fill up all my cans with diesel.

I'll check in occasionally, hopefully all this crap will settle down, can't be a whirlwind forever.....

Hope everyone is doing well. Have a great day!
Thanks for checking in! I'm sorry if I pulled your chain too much. Next time, just tell me how your cow eats your corn. You're 100% right, God never promised us an easy life, in fact, the other way around. Give it to him, relieve much of your burden. I know how you feel with everyone depending on your paternal guidance. Same boat here. Prayers for BIL, you are the realist. When the chips are down on your health, it is natural to reach out and try almost anything, and with so much BS on the net these days....
At some point in time, with proper heart and mind, we have the ultimate retirement ahead.

4 days of pecking the little 🤬 destroy one of good blue spruce.
That's why God made BB guns.

Wifey made our first ever "scotcheroos". We are not really tasting the butterscotch chips. They seem over powered by the chocolate chips. (still have almost finished off 1/2 of them anyway). :)

Son mowed lawn with the Steiner beast. When I got home, he was about half done. I noticed my cheapie deflector chute was all bent up. He had ran into our chicken coop with it and bent both all to heck. Plus, the last time he mowed, he scraped about 4" of bark off of our front yard pecan tree and the ground level. :( Insert angry moji. I told him, "Son, you need to pay 100% attention to how the heck you are steering and how fast you are trying to get the job done. I don't want you to EVER hit anything again. Stop if something is in the yard, or lift the deck over it. A push mower has about 4 hp, and the Steiner has 25hp and weighs a LOT. You have torn stuff up without seeming concerned about it. Next time, you will be in trouble." I made him help me heat and bend back the deflector chute frame. It is pretty rag tag, but working. I told him NEVER mow anywhere near a house or vehicle with the chute up. (it can flip up out of the way to prevent clogging.) I taught him how to grease the swivel wheels, and the rear roller.

The Steiner beast mower deck is a really good design. It picks up the grass blades well, has a heavy roller on the back, and shoots the clippings out well (side discharge). This one is a 72", the thing is not low on horsepower, even with the D905 engine having blowby. It will burn the drive belt before it bogs the engine down. It has some oregon blades that have the backside of the cutting edge with 3 tabs sticking up to help mulch and create the whirlwind vacuuming effect. It will choke down if I try to cut really high thick pasture grass too fast. The blades are actually about 1/4" too long, and are so close to the deck's sidewalls, they can create a pinch point that will choke. They were purchased by spec, rather than specifically for a Steiner deck. Next set, I will mill the same amount off of each end.

Neighbor's big dog got loose. She scared the chickens, and they squawked like crazy, but I yelled and she ran off. BTW, my daughter is still raising up 2 young ducks. One seems to be a female mallard, the other might be a heinz 57.

RNG, sorry you are having to deal with the insurance woes. They are happening across the country. Not sure how bad here yet, but our earthquake potential is replaced with hurricane and hail potential.

Me and my co-workers spent the afternoon learning our old AGIE Charmille Cut 20P wire edm. We only know the tip of the ice berg concerning operation so far yet. I know the theory, and have programmed Fanuc brand before, but not much "hands on" experience. We got a tough project done, but had some pot holes along the way. But each pot hole, was a learning experience. Very similar to this one.

Popgadget, I enjoy hearing about your flying exploits. The performance of your jet must be awesome. I was told by a pilot that had done some jet co-piloting, "you have to think at least 5-10 minutes ahead of where you are." Thanks for sharing.

rip, I hope the issues find suitable ends. Hope daughter in Montana is fairing well. How has her back/spine/neck healed up? Is she better I hope? Are there plans of going to visit her?

Prayers team.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 39° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 73° with afternoon thunderstorms. Got to see Dr's PA yesterday. Gave me a plan to get my foot healed. Mostly part was staying off it as much as possible. Witch I have already been doing. A little ice pack time also helps. Got grass mowed. No trimming was done. Have a Optometrist visit this morning. Then will see what needs to be done when I get home. Probably not much after eye dilation.
