Thank you all for the warm welcome; the resources and advice here at TBN definitely had a hand in my choices. Especially the "buy bigger"/"wish I'd gone bigger" themes.

I've seen here alot of folks using a thumb on their backhoe. And thought if I had one i could use it to set smaller logs on my small sawmill. So I gathered some parts from my scrap pile.
After a week (an hour here and there) it's done. Not too pretty but it works. I'll clean it up and put some orange paint on it soon.
