ticks are gross and I have no one to "check me"
had that awful experience last year where one dug into middle of my shoulder blades where I couldn't see or touch
and had to get dermatologist to dig it out of me.
Gross bugs, no redeeming value, and they are highly effective at spreading disease.

Frits, your forsythia reminds me I have two crates of dug up bulbs/flowers to plant that a friend decluttering their own garden
dropped off. Hosta and something else, all munched on by deer. So far...............no deer eating my hosta
will plant those as soon as I get home, going to get sunny and pretty warm out.

when my friend and I get back from Home Depot, going to have him work with me to inspect that squealing leveling ram on rv.
I want to crawl under there and watch while he operates it. Want to bring it down to point it starts squealing and see if anything is loose.
I also ordered the proper ATF fluid for the leveling pump and will check the fluid level. First I need to find the pump and oil reservoir.

Good Morning
64° with a high of 85 for today under sunny skies again.

Yesterday kept me occupied with a variety of tasks, not to mention an hour of backtracking looking for where in the world I left the digital inflator gauge I used to pressurize the PEX. I was about to give up when my wife walked over to the shop with it, asking me why I left it on the dining room table.

I hooked up the 3PT mower and mowed inside all the pastures, this view shows some of the fence wire that Dennis (BEF) came up and helped to install.

After I got finished with the tractor mowing, I dropped the mower and mounted the box scraper. It was time for lunch so my wife and I went out to lunch, and then to look at ceramic tile. When we got home, I checked the air pressure in the Lazer tires (reason I was looking for the inflator gauge earlier) and mowed all the fence lines in the pastures.
Once that was done, it was time to fill and box scrape the ruts from the concrete trucks and construction vehicles before the next round. Dropped the box scraper and put the tractor and Lazer away in time to get cleaned up for the airport authority meeting.
Meeting was fairly short, was over by sunset, so I figured I ought to take the little plane for a little sight seeing.

Checked out my construction site-

I took a fellow board member along for the ride, he took the pictures with his iPhone. I’m impressed with how light it appears on the ground, as the sun had already set.

I’m supposed to do some electrical work at the restaurant this morning, not sure what else I’ll get into.

Good Morning! We are in!!! Moved to new house, actually new to us it was built in 2009. Still have many boxes to unpack and still trying to figure out everything. Hospice, our inherited 19 year old cat, keeps getting lost and lets us know by screaming very very loudly.

Weather station is in the garage needing to be planted, connected laptop to new wifi after several attempts, TV is still not hooked up but the Audio/Video guy is scheduled next week. Our old oak table is used as our dining room table and we have to order a breakfast room table. Need to adjust A/C vents and another thousand little jobs . . . .

Found the walkie talkie app on my Apple Watch now I just need to get my wife an Apple Watch (anniversary this month) so we can find each other.

Got a note from post office to clear brush from around my mailbox. Only mine is clear, it’s the neighbors that is brush covered. They can’t even get that right. I’m tempted to leave a note back at them to not cram oversized packages into the box. I have lots of traffic on the road, and have been close to getting hit while trying to unjam the box.
Or maybe show them the mail lady backing over my wife’s flowers.

Good Morning!!!! 57F @ 5:15AM. Foggy this morning, then partly cloudy this afternoon. High 67F. Winds W at 10 to 15 mph.
It'll be 94F when I get back up north this afternoon. Ugh.

I've had an industrial grade floor polisher for sale for more than a month, and yesterday someone decided they had to have it. He'd never used one before, so I let him know what I'd learned the hard way. Hope he was paying attention, as it'll really take you for a ride if you don't pay attention.

Other than that, just loaded the van and trailer and checked air and oil. Hope I remembered everything for the various projects up there.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

69 outside this AM, heading to upper 80's.

Been in ketchup mode for a while on this forum. Just juggling as best we can. Spending too much time with the in-laws. Just up and back is over five hours a day. They have gone in slow motion with trying to get their affairs in order for their final move. It's put a lot of pressure on all the rest of the family. That's the sad part, the in-laws don't see it.

Cannot believe we are almost half-way done with 2024 already. Wow.

Be safe.

Similar with "cleaning out" my MIL's who passed last July. One way trip is 2 days. Spent almost 3 weeks, only made a slight dent. The house is still full of "stuff". The garage is full. There is no place to stage stuff to move it out. Most rooms are full of stacks of stuff that still need "sorting". In my view a lot of it needs sorting into if it goes into a trashcan or if it's too big goes into a dumpster.
I got to the point of taking some furniture for my "shop". Just because it looked like it would would be easy to "lose" and burn.
My wife and BIL seem more concerned about being able to donate stuff of little to no value (old senior ladies clothing, National Geographic magazines, etc.) than just to clear it out and get the house ready for it's next prime occupant. The local places to donate only accept a few boxes at a time. Thus we were getting a car trunkful of "stuff" out twice a week. And we could fill a 5 yard dump.
My BIL and his son both work full time, so they don't have much time to spare.

One year down, looks like at least one more to go.

I feel for you. Try and stay positive through the ordeal.

Another issue for us is the general upkeep and repairs on the house and property itself.

The fact they refuse to live with us also compounds the health and general well being as they are alone on a property that they can no longer live in and function within, safely.

If we are not in cleanup mode we are in doctors and hospital mode.

Crazy times. Wife and I agreed we are not doing "this" to our kids.

Morning all, 73 going to 87 and sunny.
Just re-potted some roses, some watering.
Dog walk at peddlars village.

Phil - your woodworking is amazing. I have trouble just getting a flat surface.

Brother is out in Cali and visited my dad. He is in good spirits, but can't move around or eat solid food.
House cleaning/fixing is on his list to get done, but needs Dads GF to do get someone, not our house. That will be more of a chore than the actual cleaning.

Be well,

Todays work is done, changed oil in Mazda for 2nd time. Since son wrecked the Subaru, this is now our daily driver instead of being the garage queen. 9200 miles now.
Watching hummingbirds from 4 ft from feeder. They don’t come as often with snagglepuss beside me.
